Event finalises International Buyers Mission with 1855 guests confirmed from 60 different countries, shoring up positive outlook for the fair set to run from 17th to 20th September at Feria Valencia.

The mission is in addition to the ones organised by Anieme and Fedai and supported by IVACE Internacional and ICEX for international specifiers and media, set to attend in large numbers.

Valencia, 9th September 2019.- The upcoming edition of Feria Hábitat Valencia is ready to go. The organisers are putting the final touches to their preparations for what is expected to be a successful edition of Hábitat. The fair, which opens its doors on 17th September at Feria Valencia and runs until 20th September, has not just grown by the usual parameters of size (+41%) and numbers of exhibitors and brands (+21%), but also in terms of the interest sparked in international markets.

The surest proof of this is the results of the organisers’ recruitment drive for the International Guest Buyers programme: the effort invested over the last few months has delivered an extremely high percentage of positive responses and confirmations from amongst the professionals invited, with 1855 buyers, interior designers and architecture practices in 60 countries having confirmed they will be visiting during the four days the fair is open. This figure is almost double the number achieved last year.

These are professionals with substantial purchasing power, who receive a personal invitation from Hábitat and are selected on the basis of how significant the market they represent is to the exhibitors at this year’s fair and the likelihood that they will buy from them.

The countries these buyers will be coming from are: Andorra, Algeria, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Morocco, Mexico, Nigeria, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Uzbekistan.

Adding to this international group of buyers will be the specifiers visiting Feria Valencia as part of the various trade missions being hosted by Anieme and Fedai, with the support of IVACE Internacional and ICEX.

Online pre-registrations up

These are visitors who were sent a personal invitation and have confirmed their attendance online. It should be noted however that thousands of visitors attend the Valencia fair without being prompted by an invitation. Last year Hábitat registered 26,140 visitors, all either Spanish or international professionals and, on the basis of the increase in the number of professionals currently pre-registering on the official Hábitat website, that figure is expected to improve this year. As of today, pre-registrations are 10% up on last year.

Building up fast!

The pace of work at Feria Valencia is fast and furious right now as we move into the last ten days of build-up. Deadlines are fast approaching, with hundreds of carpenters, painters, electricians, builders and decorators having been working since mid-August in all six of the halls at Feria Valencia that are home to what is sure to be a highly successful Hábitat.

Programme of talks and other activities for the upcoming edition of Hábitat –
17th – 20th September – set to explore relationship between contract sector,
design and interior design, digital challenges and consumer experience.
Programme set to feature presentations by leading professionals including Fran
Silvestre, Ramón Esteve, Jaime Sanahuja and Italy’sTeresa Sapey.

Valencia, 18th July 2019.- Feria Hábitat Valencia is putting the final touches to its
programme of activities and lectures set to roll out between 17th and 20th of this
coming September. The lectures will address the main challenges facing the
interior design, design, contract and architecture sectors from a wide spectrum of
perspectives, although this year the focus will be on the challenges of the digital
era, the new uses of interior design as part of the ‘customer experience’ and the
relationship between the contract sector and institutional environments.
Design and contracts are stars of the show

As has been the norm for the last few editions of the fair, Hábitat will be
structuring its programme of events around four major themes: design, the
contract sector, interior design and trends. Each event will take place on one of
the days of the fair in a special space, the Ágora nude, which will be on Level 3 at
Feria Valencia, next to the halls dedicated to design and the avant-garde.
Design with a capital D will be under the spotlight in the sessions on day 1 of the
fair, 17th September, with Ramón Esteve giving a presentation on the
retrospective exhibition of his work at Hábitat. On the Tuesday, creatives from
Estudio Yonoh and Pepe García of CuldeSac will be taking part in the sessions
along with manufacturer Sancal, whilst the Association of Designers of the
Comunidad Valenciana – ADCV will also be hosting a discussion about the
economics of design in which Xavier Giner and Kike Correcher will be taking part.
The next day, architecture and the contract sector will be taking to the stage in a
highly focused session organised by the ARQ/DECO platform that will be featuring
eminent professionals including Fran Silvestre, Jaime Sanahuja, Carmen Baselga,
the Wannaone consultancy, Welcome Design and the Viteri Lapeña group

Choices mean Nude will showcase twelve Spanish designers and design practices and seven schools of design. The jury of professionals has highlighted the versatility, functionality and use of new materials in the designs chosen, with the great majority of their creators taking part in the show, an integral part of Hábitat 2019, for the first time.

Valencia, 5th July 2019.- The content of Salón nude 2019 has now been decided. A jury of professionals has selected a total of twelve designers and design practices to take part, alongside seven universities and schools of design, in the seventeenth edition of nude. Nude is the Young Design Talent Show and is Spain’s main launchpad for creatives specialising in interiors. Nude has since its inception been staged within Feria Hábitat Valencia, and this year’s edition, which takes place from 17th to 20th September at Feria Valencia, is all ready to go.

Nude’s participants this year were selected by a jury of professionals that included prominent figures from the world of design. The 2019 Jury thus comprised the head of the Design Department at Lladró, Nieves Contreras, Italian architect

Dario Gagliardini, Alejandra Gandia-Blasco, creative director at Diabla and the editor of Diseño Interior magazine, Pilar Marcos.

The four met yesterday, Thursday, together with María Fontes, who heads up Salón nude, and Daniel Marco, director of Feria Hábitat Valencia, to assess the candidates’ entries. Their final choice of designers and design practices to take part in this year’s Salón nude is:

  • 38 Grados Estudio (Lithuania and Granada)
  • Abana Bilbao (Bilbao)
  • Ana Belén Gómez (Zaragoza)
  • Inspira Design / Paula Piris (Valencia)
  • Kyoki (Alicante)
  • Margarida Valente (Portugal)
  • Mihache / Esther Hervás (Castellón)
  • Nacho Correa Studio (Lanzarote)
  • Orgánica (Málaga)
  • Pot + Diez Cerámic (Valencia)
  • Tabuhome (Madrid)
  • Tonia Fuster (Palma, Mallorca)

The following schools of design were also selected to take part in Salón nude 2019:

  • Barreira
  • EA + SC Manises
  • EASD Valencia
  • UJI
  • Universidad Cardenal Herrera / CEU
  • UPV Alcoy
  • UPV ETSID

The jury highlighted the versatility and functionality of the designs entered and the way they had made use of new materials. For these professionals, the entries were all about delving into new ways of approaching interiors and they highlighted the designs that showed a substantial degree of innovation and will thus make this Salón nude one of the best quality yet.

Also, of the twelve designers and design practices selected – the schools enter direct – ten were taking part in the event for the first time, signalling the significant interest in the show on the part of the country’s young designers. It is also interesting to note the varied provenance of the entries selected, with submissions even received from designers in Portugal and Lithuania.

It should be remembered that the Salón nude is not just a sales platform or a product showcase. It also features an packed programme of lectures, workshops and talks centred on design and leading-edge trends that form what is referred to as the ‘Ágora nude’, Feria Hábitat Valencia’s true creative nerve centre. The ‘Ágora nude’ programme is being put together right now.

CEVISAMA VUELVE A CRECER Y YA ESTÁ AL 85% DE OCUPACIÓN PARA 2020

The fair has sold all the exhibition space available and has filled all six of the halls it has taken on. The fair will offer 65,000 square metres of exhibits, 40% more than last year.

Valencia, 28h June 2019.- ‘Sold Out’. The upcoming edition of Feria Hábitat Valencia, which runs from 17th to 20th September, is set to be the biggest of recent years as it has now filled the full 65,000 square metres of space available for exhibits. It is estimated that the fair will be more than 40% bigger than last year in terms of area for exhibits as in the last few weeks it has reached almost one hundred percent capacity across the six halls – two more than last year – set aside for the Hábitat ’19 offering.

The growth has occurred as a result of having given last year’s exhibitors bigger stands and, especially, new exhibitors having signed up. Indeed, 158 new exhibitors have already registered for this next Hábitat that did not take part last year and that, in many instances, have chosen to exhibit at the upcoming Feria Valencia event on account of the excellent outlook for the 2019 show.

Designer, Contemporary and Haute Décor sections grow

Hábitat has added new exhibitors to all sections of the showcase. One of the most dynamic in this sense is the contemporary section, which includes modern, upholstered and bedroom furniture and will be featuring 65 new companies.

This section will be spread across three halls, whilst some of the new exhibitors include Torsan Mobel, Altacon, Mobel Yecla and T+Dos Sofas. Other new names in Contemporary this year are Navarro Tapicerías, Lan Mobel, Essenzia Dormire, Karibian Descanso, Mopal Tapizados, German manufacturer K+W Polstermöbel and Italian manufacturer Ego.

Designer and avant-garde comprise another section with a significant number of new exhibitors: 56 in all. This section of the showcase has doubled, in fact, since 2018, with design ‘heavyweights’ such as Gandia Blasco, Punt Mobles, Actiu – which last took part in 2017 – Casadesús, Metalarte, Akaba, Kendo, Teulat, Albiol Modular and Massmi Iluminación coming on board. International manufacturers have also signed up, including Stellar Works and Brokis, along with leading ‘Made in Italy’ names such as Magis, Emu Group, Homes Spa, Santa Lucia Mobili and Lapalma.

Lastly, the Haute Décor section has added a significant number of new recruits.  It is worth remembering that Hábitat is the only fair in Spain that features a dedicated section for this segment of the market, with exhibitors including the top names in style and luxury.

The companies specialising in this style of product that are exhibiting in the Haute Décor show for the first time this year include Montero Creaciones Artísticas, Alpuch, Creaciones Fejomi, Artes Moble, Dialma Brow, Grupo Covet, Royal Design, Portuguese brands Antika y Aleal and Italian manufacturer Imperial Line.

A report titled ‘Macrotrends’ compiled by experts at AITEX and the Metacomunicación agency suggests that next season’s designs will be more sustainable and linked to the passing of time. It identifies four main, global trends that it names as “Dawn”, “Daybreak”, “In Broad Daylight” and “Nightfall”.

Valencia, 20th June 2019.- For the fifth time in a row, the Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar fair – the next edition of which takes place from 11th to 13th September at Caja Mágica in Madrid – has published its annual report on trends that previews what are set to be the four main streams that will inform textile design next year, 2020. On this occasion, the report has been written by Francisca Orihuel, who is textile fashion expert at the AITEX Institute of Technology, and Jose Vicente Plaza, Raül Buigues, Delia Sánchez and Ángela Mollà, who are all specialists at communications agency Metacomunicación.

The report starts from the premise that the textile industry is facing its greatest challenge ever: how to design for a global population whilst at the same time protecting the planet and ensuring the industry’s output does not have a negative impact on people. Pivotal to this will be the growth of local production to the detriment of sourcing from Asia, which will improve timescales and disrupt the textile industry’s traditional patterns/rhythms.

The experts conclude, as a result, that textile production will become organic, offering transparency from the outset whilst being environmentally friendly – values that are becoming corporate strategy for textile manufacturers.

Taking the above as its starting point, the ‘Macrotendencias’ report outlines four major trends in textile design and fashion for 2020:

Dawn

In this trend, a style of product will emerge where the fabric and its texture blend with icy, light, pastel colours that merge together to create very personal looks. A style that is approachable yet avant-garde and imaginative at the same time. The neutral colour palette offers shades that blend together easily to provide a perfect balance between brightness, elegance and light.

Daybreak

This is a concept that can convey the idea that everyone, everywhere, does the same things in that we are all born, grow up and die. It suggests reviving artisan techniques and re-establishing the value of working with textiles and of the relationship between our country and its history. It also posits finding a unifying thread in folklore, bringing back the joy of decking out the home in a way that involves our history and culture.

In Broad Daylight

All the designs in this category boast a vibrant, joyful colour palette, the brighter the better. Colours are combined, complement each other and superimposed one over the other with no holds barred. Designs are characterised by the use of laminated and glossy materials, displaying attention-grabbing geometric shapes and colour combinations that create a fresh, urban style with a unique personality.

Nightfall

Important aspects of decoration in this trend are symbolism and detail in personal and highly ornate objects. This is a trend that is reinventing the classics, giving them an element of surprise that is evident in the way rich materials play with light.

‘El Cubo’ will feature specialist contract operators and a series of seminars for professionals. This second edition of the event will centre on innovation in textiles and will include presentations on textiles in hotels and restaurants. There will also be ‘pop-up’ hotel rooms dressed with textiles.

València, 20th May 2019.- The upcoming edition of Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar, which takes place from 11th to 13th September at the Caja Mágica in Madrid, is currently putting the final touches to what will be its fifth edition. One of the strongest elements of the fair will be ‘El Cubo’, a special area dedicated to the contract segment of the interiors industry that was launched last year to great acclaim.

Indeed, the fact that this specialised area was so well received has encouraged the organisers to re-run the initiative. ‘El Cubo’ was and will again be a very attractive looking, innovative space featuring a number of activities relating to the contract sector and fitting out facilities and communal spaces, which are becoming an increasingly significant art of the home textiles, upholstery and decorating business.

The second edition of El Cubo is being staged in partnership with specialist website Infinitynner and will endeavour to show professionals visiting Caja Mágica the latest trends and innovations in the textile industry and their applications in the demanding contract sector. A number of companies specialising in this segment of the industry will be exhibiting and there will also be a series of lectures that will take a look at examples of success in this specialist field.

The topics set to be covered include the latest technologies being applied, the very latest trends and innovations, cost management and sustainability, examples of textile solutions in contract contexts, how to deliver customer satisfaction to a hotel and the many variables available in customisation that can meet the project’s technical demands.

‘El Cubo’ will also review innovations that derive from the use of so-called ‘intelligent textiles’ in contract settings – a topic being covered in collaboration with the Institute for Textile Technology, AITEX.

Hotel rooms dressed with textiles

The second edition of ‘El Cubo’ will again be staging one of the displays that enjoyed the most success when it was given its first outing last year, where different hotel rooms were dressed with textiles. This year, prestigious interior designers and decorators will be creating pop-up hotel rooms in which textiles will play a prominent part of the décor.

Fair’s most iconic pieces of furniture set to be shown alongside halls dedicated to design

Valencia, 16th May 2019.- This year’s edition of Feria Hábitat Valencia will host a retrospective exhibition of work by Ramón Esteve. Designed by the architect and industrial designer himself, the exhibition will feature an extensive selection of iconic pieces of furniture created by him for different Spanish and international brands during his professional career.

As such, the show will be an extension to the fair’s initiative, launched last year, of recognising professionals who have made a special mark on the world of interiors and have a significant link to Feria Hábitat Valencia. Esteve follows on from Alicante-based Mario Ruiz, who created a much applauded display of some of his major work at last year’s Hábitat.

This year the fair, which takes place at Feria Valencia from 17th to 20th September, is honoured to feature one of the industry’s major figures, architect and designer Ramón Esteve, who founded his eponymous Studio on the basis that architecture is a all-encompassing discipline.

His training as an architect has led him to adopt the view that architecture and design are a single concept, almost inseparable, generated by the same laws and premises that govern design – all with the aim of creating complete settings through a symbiotic interaction between the two disciplines, with design acting on architecture and vice-versa and each being recognised for its own importance and difficulty.

Hábitat boosts focus on design

The Esteve retrospective will be the finishing touch to an edition of Hábitat that will be turning the spotlight on every facet of design. As a result, the offering from Spanish and international design and cutting-edge companies is set to be twice as big as last year and is being moved to a prominent location, in halls 1 and 2 on Level 3.

This special space will house not just the Ramón Esteve exhibits but also the creative hothouse that is the Salón nude, which features new designers, and a good number of the lectures, talks and discussions that are part of the Ágora nude programme. The content of the programme will centre on interior design, décor, design, architecture and the contract sector.

  • Hábitat’s Hall 4 is also set to host a new exhibition and sales area dedicated to the European market, with exhibitors including suppliers of contemporary furniture from Europe and Spanish brands focused on exporting to the EU market.

Valencia, 9th May 2019.- Feria Hábitat Valencia’s organisers are still adding content to this year’s show, with one of the most notable features the significant presence of European companies from the various routes to market for products for the home that will be coming together at Feria Valencia from 17th to 20th September. Hábitat has in fact designated France to be the upcoming show’s guest country, reflecting its importance as the top destination for exports of Spanish furniture, which racked up 595 million euros-worth of sales there last year, 12% up on previous years.

In line with this and to help boost trade between the two countries’ interiors industries, the organisers have arranged for the main buying and retail groups operating in France to visit the fair. These are operators with substantial purchasing power and a significant presence in the country’s various routes to market, with many already listing Spanish brands amongst their suppliers.

Notable amongst those that have already confirmed they will be visiting Hábitat 2019 are groups such as Geant du Meuble, Gram, Maison de la Literie, Maxiam, Mobilier de France, XXL and the French division of German giant Musterring.  Representatives of companies including Story, Ucem, Mon Lit et Moi, Olyrveve, Gran Litier – Centrale d’Achat, SAS Confort Decor, SARL Anywhere Concept and renowned multiple retailer Roche Bobois have also confirmed their attendance.

The fair has also closed a partnership deal with the ‘Union Francophone des Décorateurs d’Intérieur – UFDI’, France’s main trade association for architects, interior decorators and specifiers operating in the contract sector. The deal means that a significant number of representatives of this group of professionals will be visiting the upcoming edition of Feria Hábitat Valencia.

In a further initiative and taking advantage of these French operators’ interest in Spain, Hábitat’s organisers have extended the guest-list to a number of buying groups in markets that have links with France such as Belgium and Holland. Response to the invitation has been excellent, with representatives of Belgian buying groups Quorum Group Belgium, Ucem Crozatier, O.Key Belgium, IMG Internationale Meubel Groep and Mobica-Belgium having confirmed they will be visiting. Dutch buying groups M Line DBC Nederland, M Line DBC International y Garant Netherlands will be joining them.

New, dedicated hall for European market

In line with the drive to promote the highest priority target markets for ‘made in Spain’ interiors, Hall 4 on Feria Valencia’s level 2 will feature an exclusive area for exhibits and trade focused exclusively on the European market. The area will showcase both Central European exhibitors and Spanish companies that have a particular interest in exporting to those markets.

“Of the top 10 destination markets for Spanish exports of furniture, seven are currently members of the European Union: France, Portugal, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Belgium,” explains the fair’s director, Daniel Marco, adding that “This is good reason for Hábitat, which is Spain’s foremost platform for exporting furniture, lighting and décor, to treat the presence of buyers from these countries with the corresponding degree of importance, so we can give our exhibitors’ business a boost.”

The guest initiative aims to provide a response to demand from all sectors that exhibit at Hábitat – particularly the contemporary (modern, youth, upholstery and bedroom) sector – that have a special interest in those markets and already sell volume there. It should be remembered that contemporary is one of the sectors set to show the biggest growth at this next edition of Hábitat, with more than 35% more product on display than at the previous fair.

Valencia, 3th May 2019.- The sales campaign for the next edition of Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar, which runs from 11th to 13th September this year at Madrid’s Caja Mágica has made a brisk start. The event is reaffirming its positioning as the only fair in Spain dedicated 100% to textiles for the home, décor and upholstery and has already achieved 75% of expected occupancy, with five months still to go before opening day.

As a result, there are once again high expectations for the fair, which last time round featured 87 exhibitors representing 237 companies and brands, both Spanish and international. As for this coming September’s edition, Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar has already confirmed that a high percentage of exhibitors at the 2018 show will be returning, with these including the industry’s biggest names, which choose to exhibit at the event created by Feria Valencia and Ateval-Home Textiles from Spain year after year.

The rollcall of companies that have already confirmed they will be at Madrid’s Caja Mágica in September include manufacturers such as Texere, Abececasa, Aznar Textil, Cañete, Casper Dos, Castilla Textil, C&D Fabrics, Comersan, Cotopur Kamasana, Creaciones Euromoda, Dabedan, Destiny Decor, Martina Home by Enguitex Home, Eysa Confección, KA International, Francisco Jover and Froca.

Other returnees include Galerías Álvarez Decoración, Globaltex Home, González Llado, Grucotex, Antonio Ferre – Oxid, Industrias Bitex, Murtra, Cisne Rojo, Juan Campos, Levantex Bocairent, Level Fabrics and Manuel Revert. The extensive list goes on, with confirmed exhibitors also including Belnou, La Tapicera, Piel SA, Rafsol, Rioma, Rosatex Exclusive, SG Hogar, Pikolin Home and Frances Home Textiles.

The register of exhibitors at Home Textiles Premium at Caja Mágica features yet more brands set to add value to the event, with Athenea, Antilo, Casa Moda, Textiles Joyper, Texol, Textiles Pastor, Textiles Reina, Arce – Textiles Bordados, Visatex, Textils Mora, Tuvatextil, Yebane and Zabala Group being just a few.

As the fair’s director, Máximo Solaz, explains, “four editions in, this is a fair that is definitely well-established within the industry now. It can well claim to be the only fair that specializes 100% in this sector of industry, with a highly professional profile of both Spanish and international visitors. Also, it offers our exhibitors a significant degree of probability that they will do business at the show.”

The director expressed his gratitude to those exhibitors that have supported the fair year after year. “A high percentage come back every year,” he claimed, whilst also thanking the support that trade association Ateval – Home Textiles from Spain has given to boost what is “the industry’s main event and a business platform of the first order”.

Meanwhile, the director of ATEVAL’s International Development Department, Leila Bachetarzi, underscored the “the markedly international nature of the fair. Last time round we welcomed highly qualified buyers from 33 countries, who came both in response to invitations sent out by us and as part of the trade mission arranged by ATEVAL – Home Textiles from Spain, which was supported by IVACE Internacional and ICEX.”

The organisers are also putting the final touches to the programme of parallel events set to be rolled out within the framework of the commercial exhibition at Madrid’s Caja Mágica. The programme will comprise a number of initiatives targeted at professional specifiers such as interior designers, architects and decorators, an increasingly significant community within the home textiles, upholstery and décor business.

The next edition of Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar takes place from 11th to 13th September this year at Madrid’s Caja Mágica exhibition centre.

Christoph Tessmar, Convention Bureau of Barcelona Director, is the new president of the ICCA Iberian Chapter on a two-year term (2019-2021). With him, were elected last Friday, April 12, in Porto, as deputy chair Jorge Vinha da Silva, Altice Arena CEO, as treasurer Alexandra Ramos, Algarve Tourism Board Senior MICE Manager, and the vocals Carina Montagut, Manager Strategical Events – Feria Valencia, Francisco Quereda, Málaga Convention Bureau Director, and Eva Garde, Granada Convention Bureau Director. Carmen Aguirregomezcorta keeps her position as Chapter secretary.

In a short testimony, Christoph Tessmar stressed the importance of establishing even stronger relations with other associations in the sector and with other chapters within ICCA; continuing to focus on communication, within and outside the Iberian Chapter, so that the community can become stronger, and relevant topics were known and discussed; and finally, a very clear investment in attracting new members, especially in Portugal, where the progression margin is quite large. Tessmar promised a committed board, which will work hard to achieve these goals.

In Porto, it was approved to hold these meetings two  years in Spain and one in Portugal, instead of what has happened so far, one year in Spain and another in Portugal. And next year the destination will be Palma de Mallorca.

Noteworthy is the emotional farewell of the Chapter’s former president, Ricardo Vieira, from Madeira Tourism, after two years in office.

The Porto meeting, held from 10th to 12th April, had a full program,  including a session with clients, experiences shared by presidents  of other chapters, an expert session on “CRM: Becoming a Data Management Rockstar”, a powerful presentation on “Music &  Business” led by David Ordinas, how to take more profit out of ICCA, with Marta Gomes, 2nd Vice President and Elif Balci, ICCA Regional  Director for Europe, a business exchange, and the usual ICCA database workshop.

85% of exhibition space at furniture fair (17-20 September) already booked

HÁBITAT 2019 ADDS TWO NEW HALLS AND IS SET TO TAKE UP 65,000 M2 OF EXHIBIT SPACE

  • The event at Feria Valencia will be housed over two levels and across six halls. Design will be on Level 3 and Haute and Contemporary Décor on Level 2.

Valencia, March 4 2019.- The biggest Hábitat of recent years. The next edition of Feria Hábitat Valencia, which takes place from 17th to 20th September, is set to be its best incarnation yet, featuring two extra halls full of exhibits and taking up a total of 65,000 square metres of exhibit space. The increase comes in response to high demand from Spanish and international companies and as of today and with seven months to go before the fair opens its doors, 85% of the exhibit space available in the six halls that will house the offering has already been sold.

The high proportion of exhibitors returning – 98% of those at last year’s fair intended to return – together with successive additions of new exhibitors from both Spain and, especially, the European markets, meant not only that the four halls occupied for the 2017 fair were retained for the 2018 show but that it was decided to take a qualitative leap forward this year and up the space even further by adding another two halls.

Since we launched the new Hábitat Project in September 2017, which marked a return to the essence of the best Furniture Fair, our aim has been to grow slowly and sustainably, with the priority always being to offer both exhibitors and visitors the best possible service, whilst focusing the scope of our initiatives on the domestic, international and contract markets,” says fair director Daniel Marco. What this means, he adds, is that “we have had to respond this year to the industry’s needs and to the faith that an increasing number of companies are placing in Feria Hábitat Valencia. 2019 will be a key year that will see us take yet another step forward in the process of further consolidating Hábitat as the leading fair for ‘made in Spain’ interiors and the gateway to international markets”.

More designer and contemporary furniture

This year’s Hábitat will also be segmenting and arranging the offering in a different way, reflecting the industries’ needs. As a result of the move, Spanish and international designer manufacturers will be located on Feria Valencia’s Level 3 so as to show the best cutting edge offering all together, spread across two halls, including exclusive content such as the Salón nude, themed exhibits and a lecture and activity zone.

According to the fair’s director “This is a highly attractive and individual environment in which top specifiers, interior designers, architects and retailers will be able to see our country’s leading manufacturers in different sections, such as contract, along with the European manufacturers that are setting trends, many of which are once again showing considerable interest in the Spanish market”.

All of the Haute Decor offering, along with furniture, lighting and Contemporary décor will be housed across the four halls on Level 2 at the Benimàmet venue. There has been particularly strong growth in Contemporary, modern and commercial furniture, market segments that are investing in the Valencia show, with the leading Spanish manufacturers of youth furniture, upholstery and bedroom furniture taking space. “This is undoubtedly an incentive for the independent retail sector and major retail groups, which will be presented with the new collections and launches for the coming season,” Marco explains.

Cevisama, the International Fair for Ceramic Tiles, Bathroom Furnishing and Natural Stone that takes place annually in Valencia (Spain), is putting the finishing touches to the preparations for what will probably be its best edition of the last ten years. The fair has become firmly established as the leading sales platform for Spain’s ceramic tile industry, which is now Europe’s most prolific producer of floor and wall tiles. What is more, demand in Spain has taken off again, making the country a more attractive market. No surprise, then, that the organisers have set the bar high for this upcoming edition, which runs from 28th January to 1st February at Feria Valencia and is expected to welcome 100,000 professionals from all over the world.

The show’s offering is being set out over ten halls, one of which is being dedicated to products and materials created specifically for architectural and interior design projects. There is a reason for this: ceramic is gaining traction in the Contract sector, with its aesthetic and technical properties having made it a decorative as well as a construction material. Hand in hand with the industry, Cevisama is aiming to further boost its status as a must-attend event for property developers, designers, interior designers and architects and, of course, manufacturers and distributors.

The exhibitors that the organisers of the fair have recruited for the new hall – the venue’s hall 6 – include major names in the ceramic tile sector such as Neolith, Natucer and Laminam and Fiora, Hidrobox and Ramón Soler from the bathroom furnishings sector. The hall is being specially designed to suit its new purpose, with modern networking spaces, places to go for a coffee, snack or meal and wifi zones. Cevisama’s cultural content this year includes the Architecture and Design Forum, with top-level speakers including, amongst others, Pritzker Prize winning Swiss architect Jacques Herzog, who will talk about his Tate Modern project in London, and architects Nieto Sobejano, who will give an insight into their latest major commission, the Arvo Pärt Center in Laulasmaa.

These are just a few of the features set to define this next edition of Spain’s leading industrial fair. The main retail groups and specifiers from the USA, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Belgium and Russia have already confirmed that they will be visiting and the organisers are fully expecting this year’s fair to deliver even better results than last year, when 90,000 visitors attended including 17,000 from outside Spain and 838 brands were on show.

With Roberto Leal and Teresa Sapey and chefs including Karlos Arguiñano, Begoña Rodrigo, Diego Ferrer and Jacob Torreblanca

  • Cookery demonstrations, product demonstrations, dedicated seminars on refurbishment and new routes to market plus sessions with interior designers and decorators comprise high-powered programme of events set to roll out at the upcoming edition of Espacio Cocina-SICI, from 28th January to 1st February at Feria Valencia.

Valencia, 17th January 2019.- The next edition of Espacio Cocina SICI, which runs from 28th January to 1st February at Feria Valencia, has put together an extensive programme of events set to take place both at the exhibition venue itself and in the city of Valencia. Part of the industry’s ‘Semana de la Cocina de València’ initiative, the programme features a packed schedule of activities, from cookery demonstrations to product demonstrations and workshops, technical sessions for professionals and meetings between interior designers, decorators and students. The aim is to enrich the fair’s exhibition and commercial content, which will this year comprise in excess of a hundred Spanish and international companies and brands located across what is expected to be 18,000+ square metres of exhibition space.

The programme is brimming with remarkable cooking professionals and celebrities who will share their particular take on the world of cooking. One of these is journalist and television presenter Roberto Leal, who will be at the fair on the Friday taking part in a session open to the public – a cookery demonstration – alongside famous architect Teresa Sapey. Having hosted the most recent series of Operación Triunfo, Leal is one of the small screen’s best-known faces and was also tasked with literally ringing in this latest new year on TVE’s La Primera, alongside Anne Igartiburu,

The presenter, from Seville, will share the cooking with famous Italian architect Teresa Sapey, who is now based in Madrid. Together they will create a special marriage of design, cooking and television, led by TV chef Diego Ferrer and brands Antalia and NEFF. Espacio Cocina SICI will also welcome the popular television chef Karlos Arguiñano and the Valencian chef Begoña Rodrigo, who will cook exclusively for the Neolith coatings firm.

It will be one of many ‘showcookings’ scheduled to take place over the five action-packed days of the fair. There will be cooking demonstrations, product demonstrations and wine tastings – like the ones being offered by Delta Cocinas – and, most of all, the kitchens of the future are set to be revealed.

An outstanding feature of the programme that will truly set the professional tone of the event, is a series of technical seminars geared to the trade that will address and explore the changing paradigm in the kitchen industry. More specifically, the contract and project sectors will be under the spotlight on the Monday as one of the industry’s major areas of business. The following day’s sessions will address the challenges and threats facing the kitchen retail sector, particularly online sales, then on Wednesday afternoon the sessions will take an in-depth look at the future challenges and opportunities of using design tools for decorating kitchen furniture.

As Espacio Cocina – SICI is also targeted at interior designers, decorators and specifiers, the organizers have scheduled in a conference for these professionals, which they are arranging in conjunction with trade association AMC and the General Council of Official Colleges of Decorators and Interior Designers of Spain (CGCODDI). Set to take place on the Wednesday, it will offer a full programme of meetings and talks with top-level companies.

The programme of cookery demonstrations includes two notable items: one being organized by manufacturer Franke and given by renowned pâtissier and member of the Jacob Torreblanca family line and a presentation of Antalia’s new FUN&DES collection by chef Diego Ferrer.  Visitors to Espacio cocina – SICI will also have the opportunity to enjoy pop-up restaurants set up by the Valencia Club Cocina with professional chefs at the helm and that will also showcase innovative products from manufacturers such as Cosentino, Cincocinas and Inalco.

NEFF Activities

Another notable feature of the programme is the series of demonstrations and workshops being organized by NEFF, Espacio Cocina – SICI 2019’s global partner, that will focus on healthy eating and the importance of efficient extracting, with the company’s latest extractor hood models being put through their paces. The prestige brand will be a major part of the programme as it will be staging ‘showcooking’ sessions given by TV chef Diego Ferrer both in the kitchen that is being built for the purpose in the Ágora SICI and on exhibitors stands, including those of Kuchentime, 2AKuchen and Antalia.

NEFF will be delivering other activities too, during the week, in its exclusive ‘NEFF Experience Area’, including tastings and demonstrations of vacuum packing and how its Slide&Hide ovens work. The manufacturer will also be demonstrating its hob with integrated extractor by cooking popcorn at a number of ‘NEFF Pop Corn Points’ throughout the venue. The company will also be offering visitors the opportunity to leave messages at ‘NEFFresh Points’ – slate-clad fridges. Lastly, it has booked a media conference for midday on the Tuesday.

Marble and worktop events

A dedicated event for kitchen worktop installers is slated to take place too and will be one of the highlights of the fair: the 1st Marble Craftsmen’s Forum, on the Thursday afternoon, organized by specialist portal Focus Piedra, will review the experiences of five leading companies from Cantabria, Murcia, Zaragoza, Valencia and Girona.

The fair is also the setting chosen by several of the industry’s operators for giving out awards – for instance coverings specialist Neolith, which will be awarding the prize to the winner of its best Marble Craftsman of the Year Competition and prestigious magazine Cocinas y Baños, which has chosen Espacio Cocina SICI to hold the award ceremony for its Premios Cocinas y Baños (Kitchens and Bathrooms Prizes). Manufacturer Cosentino will be introducing its Cosentino Design Challenge Competition, now in its eighteenth year.

Much to celebrate

There will be plenty of celebrations during Espacio Cocina SICI 2019 and the Semana de la Cocina de València. A good example is the Delta Cocinas 30th anniversary celebrations on the Thursday evening, at the outstanding venue that is the city of Valencia’s Mercado Central.

Event is looking ahead to 5th edition, set to take place once again at Madrid’s Caja Mágica

  • 2019 edition looking good: 87.5% of exhibitors expect to return.

València, 21h December 2018 – The dates for the next edition of Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar have already been set. The event, which is Spain’s only 100% trade only fair dedicated to home textiles will be taking place for the fifth time in 2019. The dates have now been set as 11th-13th September and the venue will once again be Madrid’s Caja Mágica exhibition centre.

The fair will thus be repeating the formula that has delivered such good results for its last two editions, especially since it has been held in Madrid’s cutting edge Caja Mágica venue over three days. Next year, Textilhogar will open on a Wednesday and finish on the Friday, and is investing in building an even more professional visitor profile

What is more, this will be the third year that Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar is being held in the Caja Mágica, having started out at the Real Fábrica de Tapices then moving to the Altillo (Loft) at Chamartín. The Caja Mágica fulfils all expectations in terms of being a venue where building up and dismantling exhibitions is easy, as well offering visitors ease of access and every amenity.

Great outlook for next edition

The event’s organisers have already launched their first sales drives, with a view to providing both Spanish and international companies the best possible showcase. Expectations are high in this regard, with a survey of exhibitors carried out by the organisers last time round, revealing that 87.5% anticipated returning this next September.

Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar is expecting to maintain the steady growth it has achieved in terms of both offering and demand for space since year one, with the level of representation of the industry rising by more than 58% based on the number of brands represented.

There has also been a steady upward trend in the number of professionals who have visited over the first four editions, with the number of Spanish and international visitors rising 20.39% and 80% respectively. On the domestic front, professionals have flocked in from all of Spain’s provinces but especially from Madrid (19.8%), Valencia (17.3%), Alicante (12.5%) and Barcelona (8.24% of the total).

On the international front, buyers from fifty countries visited the last Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar, many of them having taken part in the International Buyers Inbound Mission organised by Ateval-Home Textiles From Spain with the support of Icex and Ivace Internacional. It is worth noting that these buyers hailed from many different countries, from Australia to Venezuela, Russia, South Africa and Germany.

The event is once more being organised by Feria Valencia with support from textile industry association Ateval-Home Textiles from Spain, a strategic alliance that has again provided the Spanish textile industry with an international business and promotional platform of its own.

  • Hábitat has already started preparations for its next edition and has just set the dates: Tuesday 17th to Friday 20th September 2019. Also, Valencia’s Furniture and Lighting Fair has published the final figures for the latest show, with the most significant being the number of professionals who visited the fair – 26,140, 13% up on 2017 – and the 24% increase in international buyers attending.

Valencia, 3rd October 2018.- Barely two weeks after the lights went down on another successful edition of Feria Hábitat Valencia, the Valencia International Furniture and Lighting Fair has already started preparing what will be its 55th edition. The dates have already been set: 17th to 20th September 2019. Hábitat will thus be reprising the formula that has merited it the resounding success it has been for the last two editions and means that the ‘Made in Spain’ fair for interiors will take place again from Tuesday to Friday in the third week of September.

“Hábitat has definitely taken ownership of those dates,” notes the fair’s director, Daniel Marco. “It is a successful formula as it establishes us as the leading event in the second half of the year, something that both exhibitors and visitors recognize. What is more, having Hábitat in that week in 2019 will give it a strategic position on the global circuit of trade fairs that will promote our exhibitors’ interests and boost the number of international visitors,” he explains

The organisers are already hard at work preparing for 2019, having taken stock of the figures for this last edition and the response to the call for exhibitor applications that went out in September. The figures show that Hábitat continues to grow and also allow for reassessment of both the supply and the demand sides of the Feria Valencia event.

The figures show that a total of 26,140 trade visitors attended this last Hábitat – 13% more than the 23,174 who came through the turnstiles in 2017. The number rose every day so that the fourth and final day, Thursday, saw the highest number of attendees – almost 8,000, 17% up on the same day last year – and the biggest increase over the previous days.

A breakdown of the figures highlights that, whilst the number of Spanish buyers rose 12%, the increase in the number of foreign buyers visiting was 24%, with these visitors hailing predominantly from Russia (21%), Portugal (18%), France (16%), Italy (8%) and the United Kingdom (5%) out of a total of 56 markets represented at the event at Feria Valencia.

Hábitat has also sent out a questionnaire to all the exhibitors designed to provide more detailed feedback on what aspects of the fair to improve for 2019, even though from the outset expectations for this next edition are extremely high.

València, 5th october 2018.- Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar 2018 close last September its most international edition at Caja Mágica in Madrid, with many exhibitors claiming the fair has generated the most business yet. The results for Textilhogar, albeit estimates, indicate that it once again attracted more than two thousand visitors. Aside from the numbers, what stood out most this time was the volume of business generated for the 84 direct exhibitors and, especially, the broad range of foreign countries the buyers came from: 33 different markets in fact. Over the three days of the fair a significant number of orders were placed for this next season, whilst a number of deals were done for international contract projects too.

The International Buyers visit once again played a major part in delivering these results. Arranged by the textile industry’s trade association, ATEVAL – Home Textiles from Spain with the support of IVACE Internacional and ICEX, the initiative involved a hundred professionals coming to the fair from 33 countries. It is also interesting to note that as well as these guest buyers around 200 more international buyers attended the fair independently, further enhancing the value of Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar as a means of support and promotion for Spain’s textile industry in its drive to develop internationally. It is estimated that more than a thousand B2B meetings took place between exhibitors and international buyers over the three days.

It is worth remembering that the event is highly attractive to Spanish professionals as well – managers of shops specializing in décor, interior designers, architects, upholstered furniture manufacturers, textile manufacturers and retailers of home and decorative textiles. As a result, the Madrid event has become a hub for business and networking. Many of these visitors made special mention of the ‘EL Cubo’ space dedicated to the contract sector, which showcased the country’s top textile manufacturers and this time featured a set of installations that replicated a range of hotel rooms that were widely praised on account of their originality, design and innovation.

Great prospects for 2019

On the back of these results the fair has laid the foundations for a fresh edition in 2019, the prospects for which are already looking great. In fact, many enquiries were received over the three days of this last edition from potential new exhibitors that perceive Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar to be a fair that is already well-established and a platform for driving new lines of business and developing new overseas markets.

  • Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar has confirmed that nearly a hundred buyers, specifiers and journalists from priority target markets will be visiting the fair, specifically to attend the meetings organized by ATEVAL – HOME TEXTILES FROM SPAIN supported by IVACE Internacional and ICEX.

Valencia, 6th September 2018.- Interest in Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar. Is growing apace in international markets. Spain’s unique 100% trade-only fair specializing in home textiles, upholstery and décor opens next Wednesday and has confirmed that a substantial group of international buyers and specifiers will be attending from as many as 33 different markets.

The group comprises almost a hundred professionals with considerable purchasing power, selected as part of an International Guest Buyer programme co-ordinated by trade association ATEVAL Home Textiles from Spain and supported by IVACE Internacional and ICEX.

What the programme aims to do is identify those markets that offer the greatest potential for the sector to develop international sales in and the best returns for exhibitors at the fair. New countries from which buyers have been recruited this year for the first time include Australia, Argentina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Estonia, Greece, Ireland, Lebanon, Malta, Mauritius, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Slovenia, the United Kingdom and the USA. These join markets that had provided visitors last year, namely Armenia, Azerbaijan, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Mexico, Poland, Russia, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.

A quarter of all specifiers are from the Contract sector

In terms of profile, these buyers include distributors, manufacturers of upholstered furniture and purchasing managers at major companies as well as specifiers (architects, decorators and interior designers) interested in making business contacts in the contract sector. It is worth noting that a quarter of all the international professionals invited to the fair are from this sector.

They reflect the event’s highly ambitious commitment to boosting the industry’s international sales that, according to the latest statistics released by ICEX, hit 660.2 million euros in the first six months of this year. It is interesting to note that exports from the Comunidad Valenciana recorded a 5.9% increase over this same period, to 157.9 million euros.

It is not only the contract sector that has shown interest in Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar: leading international media have also reacted enthusiastically, with journalists from Italy, Kazakhstan, the Lebanon, Mexico, Portugal and Russia having confirmed they will be coming to Madrid next week as a result of the initiative co-ordinated by ATEVAL – Home Textiles from Spain.

“Driving the industry’s international development”

The aim, explains Leila Bachetarzi, director of ATEVAL’s International Development Department, is “to further develop overseas business for an industry that has always been export driven and for which events such as Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar provide a definite boost in the search for new markets.” To this end, “the trade mission we have put together with the support of IVACE Internacional and ICEX will enable exhibitors to take stock of and refresh their client portfolios by adding customers that have a strong interest in the quality, innovation, design and versatility of Spanish suppliers.

Bachetarzi also underscores that the profile of the guest visitors is of “people who are highly professional and have significant purchasing power” adding that they encompass “both the retail channel and specialist specifiers from prestigious international companies that operate in demanding fields such as the contract sector.”

With this important visit definitely going ahead, Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar is now all set to open the doors next Wednesday, 12th September, to what will be the biggest of the four editions of the fair held so far. The showcase is 36% bigger than last time round, with 84 exhibitors featuring 237 companies and brands. The fair also includes a new area dedicated to the contract sector and titled ‘El Cubo, Business Contract Zone’, which will be featuring Spain’s foremost textile manufacturers and a full programme of talks centred on this particular sector.

The fair runs from 12th to 14th September and is taking place for the second year running in the novel setting of Caja Mágica de Madrid. It has become a ‘must attend’ event for all professionals in the industry – manufacturers of upholstered furniture, decorators and interior designers – who come to see not just the most extensive range of products Spain has to offer and the country’s leading manufacturers, but also what will be the trend-setting the fabrics, textures and colours next season.

  • Interior designers, directors of hotel chains, decorators and ‘project managers’ are poised to take part, on Wednesday, in a seminar dedicated to the future of the hospitality sector led by Grupo Via and sponsored by Vondom, Point, Skyline Design, Volcaan and Ecus.

Valencia, 31th July 2018.- Feria Hábitat Valencia continues to add content to what will be one of the central features of the upcoming edition: the contract sector. As part of this content the event will be hosting a Specialist Seminar on Wednesday 19th September, half way through the fair. Delivered by prestigious specifiers and professionals who are specialists in this route to market, the workshop will analyse and discuss the future of the contract business.

This is a major event that will bring the main operators in the business together and has prompted considerable expectation amongst professionals who are already working in this area or are thinking about broaching it. Titled ‘The Future of Contract’, the line-up of speakers already includes distinguished professionals such as Jordi Cuenca, from hotel design consultancy Verum Hotel Development; architect Héctor Ruiz-Velázquez, of Ruiz Velázquez Architecture & Design; José Manuel Fernández, executive director of hotel developers Cuarto Interior; and Ignasi Llauradó, CEO and creative director at interior architecture practice Dear Design.

Others who have confirmed they will be sitting on the panel include representatives of Pascua Ortega Studio, one of Spain’s foremost interior design consultancies, and renowned North American practice Rockwell Group, which run projects globally and in Spain have been involved with unique developments such as the Westin Hotel and the Teatro Real in Madrid. The seminar is being organized by Grupo Vía, specialists in this kind of event, and sponsored by Vondom, Skyline, Point, Voolcan and Ecus.

Industrialization in the contract sector

This seminar on the future of the contract sector will take place over the morning and will be complemented by another, centred on this particular business sector from the point of view of industrialization and the search for new niches in the market. The seminar is being organized by Ecus Sleep and will be moderated by contract specialist Rubén Pons.

It is also worth remembering that Feria Hábitat Valencia has made an online guide for visitors and professionals available that highights its exhibitors’ most unusual designs. Hábitat, which takes place from 18th to 21st September at Feria Valencia, is Spain’s major event for the contract sector.

  • Event reasserts leading position in industry, showcasing 234 brands and labels from 83 exhibitors.  The showcase includes Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and German exhibitors and brands from abroad (Italy, the UK, Sweden, Germany, Holland, the USA, Belgium, France and Japan).

València 31th July 2018.- Textilhogar, the full story. Spain’s only 100% trade only dedicated fair for home textiles, upholstery and décor is getting ready for its next edition, which runs from 12th to 14th September and is without a shadow of a doubt poised to be the biggest of recent years. The showcase will be 36% bigger than last time round, with 234 brands and labels being showcased. It will also be occupying more space, courtesy of a new area dedicated to the contract sector, titled ‘El Cubo, Business Contract Zone’, which will feature Spain’s leading textile manufacturers.

This is definitely going to be an edition that nobody in the trade will want to miss. Textilhogar has become a must-attend event for professionals in the industry such as upholstered furniture manufacturers, decorators and interior designers, who come to see not just the biggest range of products in the country and the leading operators but also the fabrics, textures and colours that will set the trends for the coming season. In this regard and with more than a month still to go to opening day, expectations are very optimistic and forecasts decidedly positive for an event that last time round received more than 2,300 high level trade visitors with considerable purchasing power and hopes to improve on that figure this September.

The fair is to that end returning to the multi-purpose venue that delivered such good results last year: Madrid’s Caja Mágica. The venue itself boasts leading edge design with full facilities for visitors and exhibitors and, with 83 exhibitors signed up to showcase 234 brands and labels, the exhibition space is full. The showcase includes Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and German exhibitors and brands from abroad (Italy, the UK, Sweden, Germany, Holland, the USA, Belgium, France and Japan).

Between them they will fill the three halls that had initially been reserved together with a new exhibition and theatre are dedicated to the contract business that has been styled ‘The Cubo Business Contract Zone’. This new area will feature a series of innovative spaces in which ‘contract’ commissions will be re-created by celebrated designers. Also, the latest new products and designs from seven of Spain’s leading textile manufacturers, representing over 40 top brands and labels, will also be on show in ‘El Cubo’.

The organizers are also finalizing the details for a large group of international buyers to visit the fair as part of the International Guest Buyer programme co-ordinated by textile trade association ATEVAL – Home Textiles from Spain and supported by IVACE Internacional and ICEX. The initiative has focused on countries that offer the most potential for exhibitors at Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar to develop as overseas markets.

From the 22nd to the 27th of July 2018 the 38th International Symposium on geoscience and remote sensing (IGARSS) will be held at Feria Valencia. Around 2,400 scientists of geoscience and remote sensing from 65 countries will present their latest achievements, ongoing activities and plans for future research in techniques and developments of Earth observation. IGARSS 2018 will also host a great display in which the space agencies, industry, and other companies will show their latest developments.

IGARSS 2018 theme edition is “Observing, understanding and predicting our planet dynamics”. With the emergence of new satellite technologies, knowledge and understanding of the processes of our planet increase, as well as also our ability to monitor climate change in the Earth.

The Earth observation has become a mature technique with increasingly operational tools. Therefore, we are moving towards systematic and continuous global coverage of the land of the most relevant processes in land, oceans and atmosphere. The understanding of the processes and dynamics of our planet now allows to model these processes with greater realism and precision, to be able to estimate future trends.

After the editions of IGARSS in Beijing (China) and Texas (United States), and the next editions in Yokohama and Hawaii, this year’s Edition in Valencia offers the opportunity to highlight Earth observation activities underway in Europe. Europe has become a key player with the Copernicus program, Sentinel missions and related activities. In the opening plenary session, they highlight presentations of the European Space Agency, the European Commission, Eumetsat and national representatives, providing a complete overview of the current activities of Earth observation in Europe.

  • The fair will also be hosting a workshop on the future of the contract sector on Wednesday 19th September with the foremost architecture and interior design consultancies of the moment set to take part.

Valencia, 12th July 2018.- One of the key components of the upcoming edition of Feria Hábitat Valencia is the contract sector. Structured around a route to market that turns over millions of euros a year in Spain, the business of furnishing and fitting out public and communal facilities has become a powerful area of sales for manufacturers in the interiors industry. Responding to the needs of this sector, Feria Hábitat Valencia is creating a Contract Guide, available online, that will give professionals an insight into the most unusual projects that exhibitors at this next edition of Hábitat (18th-19th September) have worked on.

The Guide, which is already available to download via this link,

https://www.feriahabitatvalencia.com/en/proyecto/, details some 200 projects that exhibitors at the upcoming edition of Hábitat have been involved in. The projects include hotels, restaurants, hospitals, airports and private villas around the globe, designed by some of the leading specialist project managers and specifiers.

It is worth bearing in mind that almost 65% of exhibitors at the upcoming edition of Hábitat are involved, directly or indirectly, with the contract sector, meaning that, according to fair director Daniel Marco, “this Guide brings home to our visitors and to professionals around the world our exhibitors’ capacity for innovation and just how well they are able to adapt to contract projects. The Guide,” he explains, “is a promotional tool that Hábitat is making available to exhibitors and that will undoubtedly position our fair as a point of reference for the contract sector.”

Contract-themed lectures

The Guide is not the only contract-themed initiative that Hábitat is launching at this next edition. Wednesday 19th September, the second day of the fair, will be featuring a dedicated contract workshop. The day-long event takes place in the Ágora nude lecture space (Central Mall area), with speakers including leading professionals and companies with extensive experience in the contract business. The Forum will review the current and future challenges facing the sector and is open to all professionals visiting the fair during the week.
