• A jury of professionals has selected twelve designers and design consultancies from across the country, plus nine design schools and colleges, to take part in Spain’s top creative hothouse centred on interiors.

Valencia, 11th July 2018.- Salón nude 2018 is taking shape. A jury of professionals has selected twelve designers and design consultancies from across the country to take part, along with nine design schools and colleges, in what has become the main creative hothouse and showcase staged in Spain centred on the most innovative design in interiors. Between them they will be presenting more than a hundred projects and creative ideas in an integrated event, within the all-encompassing Feria Hábitat Valencia exhibition, that takes place for the sixteenth time this coming 18th-21th September.

The common thread linking the exhibits will be the new functionalities and new materials for furnishings and equipment for interiors designed to provide solutions for everyday living. The show never fails to surprise and is a launchpad for the designers of the future. A number of designers who are now well-established, such as Héctor Serrano, Isaac Piñeiro and Clara del Portillo launched their careers at this platform at Feria Valencia.

The participants at this year’s Salón nude were selected by a distinguished jury that included the Dean of the College of Interior Designers of the Comunitat Valenciana, Pepe Cosín, Stone Designs’ designer Eva Prego, Pilar Tendero, representative for Spain of renowned Italian review Domus and Actiu CMO Jesús Moreno. Ana Segovia and María Fontes also sat on the jury representing Feria Valencia in their capacities as art director for Feria Hábitat Valencia and Salón nude manager.

A total of twelve students, designers and design consultancies were selected, with the young talent set to be on show this year coming from the Comunitat Valenciana, Catalunya, La Rioja, Madrid, Galicia, Euskadi and México. They have been named as: Aggaro, Alberto Vera, Estudio Dalangi, Eugenia Boscá, Jaume Molina, Konkrit Blu Arquitectura, May Arratia Estudio, Octavio Asensio, Orgánica Design Estudio, Tabuhome and Versus Ecodesign Estudio. Mexican design student Germán Muñoz Carvajal will also be showing his work.

The 2018 Salón nude will again be featuring a significant number of universities and schools of design, with these institutions increasingly choosing nude and Feria Hábitat Valencia as an outstanding platform for them to showcase the areas they specialize in, the research they undertake and the innovation they produce in their respective fields.

The educational bodies taking part this year include: ‘Barreira Arte y Diseño (Valencia)’, ‘Escuela de Arte y Superior de Cerámica de Manises’, ‘Valencia, Escuela de Arte y Superior de Diseño de Valencia’,Escuela de Diseño de Anahuac’, Mexico, ‘Tecnun – Universidad de Navarra’, ‘Universidad Cardenal Herrera – CEU San Pablo Valencia’, ‘Universitat Jaume I Castellón’, ‘Universidad Politécnica de Valencia – ETSID’ and the ‘Universidad Politécnica de Valencia Campus de Alcoi’.

It is worth remembering that the Salón nude is not just a sales platform and product showcase. It also includes a substantial programme of lectures, workshops and talks centred on design and the new, cutting edge trends. These all come under the so-called ‘Ágora nude’, which sets the creative tone of Feria Hábitat Valencia and is currently fine-tuning its programme.

  • Feria Hábitat Valencia (18th-21st September) is gearing up for its most international edition ever, with a huge number of foreign buyers expected to attend from 45 countries, coupled with the return of international exhibitors, especially high-end Italian companies.

Valencia, 21th June 2018.- Feria Hábitat Valencia is putting the final touches to its preparations for the upcoming edition of the fair, which takes place from 18th to 21st September at Feria Valencia and is poised to boast a markedly stronger international profile in terms of both supply and demand.

One stand-out feature of the fair, which is taking over all the available space on Feria Valencia’s Level 2, will be the significant presence of high-end Italian firms, which are staging a major come-back at the Hábitat showcase. In fact, the number of Italian exhibitors that have confirmed already is twice as high as the number that came on board from across the Alps last year.

These are top-level operators that are once again investing time and effort in the Spanish market, which is now recovering and attractive to international suppliers. Those that have already committed include companies such as Cattelan, Target Point New, Corium, Franco Ferri, AmbiensVR, Officina Nove, F.Lli Rossetto, Fan Europe, Magniflex, Plust Collection, Ilpo, FIM, Novamobili, Nidi and Tonin Casa – just some of the Italian names that are exhibiting at Hábitat for the first time. Alongside them will be manufacturers Sitland, Siru, Ferroluce and Antonio Lupi, which exhibited last year.

Portuguese firms are also set to account for a significant proportion of the foreign exhibitors at Hábitat. Companies returning or taking part for the first time include Ducampus, Materflora, Cortimoveis, Gualtorres and Grupo Costa & Januario, together with designers Serip and Fenabel. To date, there are almost 40 Portuguese set to exhibit at Hábitat.

France, Germany, Slovenia, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Romania, Turkey and the Czech Republic are some of the other countries that will be contributing to a number of international exhibitors that is expected to account for over 20% of the total Hábitat showcase.

Twice as many bookings from foreign buyers

Whilst the international component on the exhibitor side is significant, the forecasts also predict that very high numbers of foreign buyers will be there too. In fact, the fair has booked twice as many travel and accommodation packages than last year, with the result that almost 2,000 VIP buyers will be coming from 45 different markets. The move is a joint initiative between Feria Valencia, public bodies such as IVACE Internacional and ICEX and trade associations ANIEME and FEDAI.

Hábitat will also, as part of the international buyer recruitment drive, be promoting an initiative specifically targeted at the contract sector that will involve identifying a large group of specifiers from Latin America who are working on major residential, hotel or shopping centre projects in Central America and the Caribbean and inviting them to attend.

It should be remembered that Feria Hábitat Valencia is also a major international business platform for exhibitors. Last year, 18% of the 23,174 visitors to Hábitat came from abroad, more specifically from 51 different markets.

Hábitat is on the way to being a first-class international showcase once again,” explains the event’s director, Daniel Marco. “There is no question that our showcase is attractive to international purchasing decision-makers. Spanish exports of furniture grew 2.8% in the first quarter of this year, and the figure for the Comunitat Valenciana rises to 10.5%. Hábitat is therefore a very positive platform for consolidating our products’ competitive edge abroad.” “Also, though,” Marco explains, “demand in Spain is recovering more and more and we are a very attractive market for the leading European manufacturers – especially for those in the industry’s benchmark countries such as Italy. We have seen a distinct increase in interest in exhibiting from major Italian companies, which will in turn, of course, make the fair’s overall offering even more appealing.”

Feria Valencia will host the 15th, 16th and 17th of June the 18th Valencia Tattoo Convention, a new edition featuring tattoo artists from around all the world. In particular, the assistance of professionals from 24 countries is confirmed: Spain, China, Taiwan, Japan, Polynesia, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Chile, Ecuador, Ukraine, Estonia, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Andorra, Portugal and France will be perfect hosts.

In this call, 4,000 square meters will be allocated to the tattoo art, whose professionals will create during three days authentic skin art works and will try to get some of the awards in the competition. But in addition, the event will feature performances, shows, live music, contests, body painting and dance, among other activities.

On Saturday, 16th of June, from 20:00 hours we will have live music “Scorcia & his Big Band Boom”, with a carefully selected repertoire of hour and a half, including classic covers like Sinatra, Dean Martin and Bobby Darin, as well as parts of the more epic rock and roll rockers like Eddie Cochran, Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Vince Taylor, what characterizes this Big Band as the only one in Spain of this style.

The Urban dance Championship in the Valencian Community will invade Feria Valencia the 10th of June to celebrate the 7th edition of Urban Beat Valencia. The appointment will be held in Pavilion 5 and will allow groups of all Spain and Europe to show their choreographic work to all the jury.

This contest is for thousands of followers a show to live, share and communicate through dance and a way to win prizes that will grant a professional jury consisting of Shirlene Quigley, Nicolas Huchard, Willy Noir and Jerky Jessy to the best exhibition.

In addition, the Championship will have different categories: Baby, infant, Junior, Youth, absolute, professional, Premium, couples, mini couples and Megacrew. Numbered entries will only be during morning, afternoon, or full day, and they can be bought at www.urbanbeatvalencia.com (free entrance for children under 3 accompanied).

This Championship is supported by RED, national urban dance championships network, a new label of guarantee that is born from the union of a few essential criteria which ensure basis and the provision of effective and equitable service to the participants of the events that are within this same label.

EXPOJOC, the reference event for the gaming sector is back in Feria Valencia to celebrate its sixth edition the next 5th and 6th of June. This year they expect more than 1,000 professionals throughout Spain and abroad.

For two days, Hall 8 will receive 38 exhibitors who will showcase the latest developments in the sector such as furniture, electronic bingo for local games, mobile technology, or betting terminals.

Within the event program, different round tables and workshops will develop, will address topics such as the introduction of payment means, digital, biometrics and the evolution of social casinos. In addition, EXPOJOC organizes a contest of startups, idea-JOC, a competition where the talent, creativity and innovation are valued.

“EXPOJOC is a reference exhibition which has been gaining weight over the years. Since the first edition so far, we have tripled the number of stands, attracting professionals from throughout Spain and even from Europe and Latin America”, highlights J. Ignacio Ferrer, founder and director of EXPOJOC.

  • The fair (18-21 September) has seen a significant increase in the number of contemporary furniture and lighting companies signing up, together with new exhibitors coming on board, especially in international design.

Valencia, 25h May 2018.- Full steam ahead! With four months still to go to its next edition (18th-21st September) Feria Hábitat Valencia has already exceeded the nett area dedicated to exhibits that it expected to occupy by 23% and has almost completely filled Feria Valencia’s Level 2, that is to say the four pavilions available for exhibits plus the Valencian venue’s Central Concourse. This means that Hábitat is well on the way to exceeding expectations, even taking into account that the previous edition tripled in size as a result of returning to its traditional September dates.

As the event’s director Daniel Marco explains, “the aim for this year’s edition of the furniture fair was to consolidate and strengthen the commercial element of last year’s show, which returned to Feria Valencia having re-set its dates in the exhibition calendar. In 2018,” he adds, “this strategy is not only being consolidated, but is also being extremely well supported by the major Spanish and European players in the industry, who have booked more space than last time.” At the last edition of the fair the space given over to exhibits was in excess of 40,000m2 gross.

The increase in the commercial offering at Hábitat’18 is a result of both the high percentage of exhibitors at last year’s show that are returning, with 85% having re-booked, and of almost a hundred Spanish and international companies and brands returning to the Feria Valencia showcase after a spell away. The growth of sectors such as contemporary furniture and upholstery – the most commercial of the sectors, represented at Hábitat by top end names – and of international design consultancies is particularly significant.

Hábitat will also be adding new elements to the mix at this next edition such as the ‘After nude’ space, which takes its inspiration from the highly successful creativity hothouse Salón nude and will be featuring designers who are already renowned. Professionals coming to Feria Valencia next September will as a result find that, according to the fair’s director, Hábitat “has far more content, more design and more to see for both the retail channel and the contract sector.

  • Event launches with additional pavilion to cater for growing demand from ceramic tile and bathroom equipment manufacturers
  • Upcoming edition set to take place from 28th January to 1st February 2019, in parallel with Espacio Cocina-SICI show

Cevisama has launched the official marketing campaign for its forthcoming edition, which is set to run from 28th January to 1st February 2019. Having exceeded 800 exhibitors and 90,500 trade visitors last year the Feria Valencia-based event is looking ahead to a fresh edition that will offer even more exhibition space.

It will in fact offer a total of nine pavilions as the growing demand from companies in the ceramic tile and bathroom equipment industry means that the sector will also occupy pavilion N2 P6, which has its own direct entrance from the venue’s North Forum and is located next to the rest of the Cevisama showcase: pavilions 1, 2, 3 and 4 on levels 2 and 3.

Ceramic floor and wall coverings; frits, glazes and colours for ceramic tiles; bathroom equipment; fixing materials and tools for installing floor and wall tiles will all be on display, together with natural stone, at Cevisama 2019, an edition the organisers hope will bolster the sustained growth and enhanced international positioning the fair has achieved in recent years.

Also taking place at the same time as this next edition of Cevisama at Feria Valencia is the Espacio Cocina-SICI show, Spain’s foremost kitchen furniture and equipment event. Complementing Cevisama and sharing routes to market and visitor profiles with the tile fair, Espacio Cocina-SICI will be an additional reason for people to visit.

As was agreed during the latest meeting of Cevisama’s organizing committee, developing the fair’s international profile in terms of both supply and demand will continue to be central to its strategy. It has to this end already set ambitious promotional campaigns in motion in Spain and the main foreign markets – essentially Europe, the United States and Canada, plus Eastern Europe and Russia, the Middle East and North Africa.

Cevisama is in the process of closing deals with the major associations of distributors in a number of countries, designed to ensure that they attend the fair. It is also negotiating with associations of interior designers, architects and planners, a profile of visitors linked to the Contract sector, which is increasingly important for manufacturers of ceramic tiles and bathrooms.

“Cevisama 2019 is set to be an historic edition as it will mark the fair’s consolidation as a global leader and, from what we have sensed since the end of last year’s show, we are convinced that we will see significant growth in ceramic tiles, bathrooms and natural stone. We need to give it everything we can from now on to ensure the aisles are full of distributors and specifiers – this is our commitment to our exhibitors,” says Cevisama’s director Manuel Rubert.

But it’s not just about general public events. Feria Valencia is also a forum chosen by numerous companies and institutions to carry out their business events. Thus, last March the site hosted the fourth edition of the PROFER business fair, a meeting between suppliers and distributor of the hardware, DIY and industrial supply sector, whose main objective was to promote commercial activity among its partners and approved suppliers of this purchasing center.

The fourth edition of this business fair brought together the more than 600 partners and associates that PROFER, Servicios Integrales has, as well as the 120 main suppliers in the hardware, DIY and industrial supply sectors, who had the opportunity to present their main news to associates. During the month of February Feria Valencia also hosted the FTTH Conference, the event is the most important worldwide dedicated to the fiber network, services and applications. This international event hosts seminars and debates among the main operators in the sector such as Orange, Vodafone or Telefónica; review of the fiber optic market panorama and the classification of Spain compared to Spain and the rest of the world; fiber for the 5G or the perspective of the investors in what facilitates the investment in fiber networks.

Feria Valencia attended from the 15th to 17th of May  IMEX Frankfurt, International event specialized in MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions). It is one of the most important fairs in Europe and Feria Valencia has been able to show the multiple possibilities of its facilities under the Valencian Agency of tourism and Turespaña´s umbrella, along with 30 companies and destinations of the Valencia Region.

Due to its infrastructures and services, Feria Valencia is one of the most complete locations to hold  anytype of  event in Valencia, something that have known in detail all the responsible of congresses, corporate events & shows who have had a meeting with us at the fair.

MICE tourism strengthens the seasonality of the tourism sector, as these type of events takes place throughout the year, especially in spring and autumn, and contributes to increase the average expenditure per tourist.

BdB MEETING, the BdB group professional meeting, was held the past 10th & 11th May in Feria Valencia´s North forum and Pavilion 6. Members of the Group had the opportunity to meet in this professional encounter, exclusive and private. As pointed out the Organisation, “Feria Valencia makes the perfect environment for this BdB Group commercial event “, thanks to the flexibility and quality of its facilities. In this regard note that the training sessions held by BdB in the Convention & Exhibition centre were something essential for the good result.

With this new edition the BdB group has strengthened its growth as one of the most important materials nationwide stores, with more than 300 sale points. The event brought together 60 exhibitors in 3,300 sqm.

Feria Valencia will host one year more all manga lovers, anime and Japanese culture thanks to the Manga Salon celebration next weekend. During these two days different activities will be offered for all ages, as well as  guests for every occasion.

The presence of Iwai Junko, voice for mythical characters such as Tomoyo Daigouji and Hikari Horaki, will be one of the main attractions of this edition. In addition, it will come accompanied by Manabe Yu, a professional musician who has played as a soloist in the Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic, and Kawamura Ryu, a master of the very renowned double bass in Japan.

  • The innovative space, styled El Cubo (The Cube), Business Contract Zone’ will be located next to the commercial exhibits. Some of the features planned for El Cubo include a series of lectures, new products from textile designers and a set where high profile interior designers will create hotel rooms using textiles on show at the fair.

València 14h May 2018.- The spotlight will be on the contract sector at Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar. This next edition of the fair, which takes place from 12th to 14th September 2018 at La Caja Mágica in Madrid, sees the launch of a new area dedicated exclusively to lectures, demonstrations and exhibits relating to the contract sector. Aimed particularly at specifiers (interior designers, decorators, architects, project managers and designers, amongst others), the initiative comes in response to demand from this segment of the market and is designed to illustrate the potential and innovation to be found amongst textile designers and manufacturers in the contract market – against the backdrop of the leading – indeed only – fair  held annually in Spain that specializes 100%in home textiles, upholstery and décor.

This new space, which is being styled ‘El Cubo, Business Contract Zone’ and is being supported by well-known specialist hospitality/contract design platform Infinityinner, will be located next to the main exhibition area but in a space with its own, exclusive identity. It will be the venue for a number of lectures, talks and discussions on the subject of the role of textiles and innovations in textiles in a range of contract projects.

The organizers are making arrangements with several design, interior design and architecture practices for them to take part in these sessions, which will look at issues such as the outlook for the textile sector, different markets that are of interest, technical regulations, cases studies were textiles have been used successfully in design, textile solutions in specific projects and the latest advances in technology and textiles.

Contract settings with textile products

This new zone will also house an innovative space dedicated to displays of real projects. It will feature stagings of real spaces and textile solutions that will re-create several different hotel settings. ‘El Cubo, Business Contract Zone’ is being supported in this by well-known decor and interior design consultancies that will design each of the sets using textile products being displayed by the exhibitors at the fair. The project will be a way of seeing the practical applications of the exhibits on show at Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar.

El Cubo will be complemented by a multi-purpose space featuring a number of specially selected textile manufacturers that will be showing visiting professionals their latest collections and innovations in a more informal, relaxed environment.

According to the fair’s director, Máximo Solaz, “this initiative represents a further step in extending and measuring the impact of Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar. The contract sector,” he adds, “is one that demands a high level of innovation and professionalism and we are convinced that a platform such as our fair provides both specialist businesses and the most demanding specifiers with the best prospects of doing business”.

  • The new exhibition, to be styled ‘After nude’, launches at the upcoming edition of Hábitat (18th-21st September) and will complement the long-standing young designers show, ‘nude’, which is coming up to its 16th edition. This year’s ‘nude’ jury includes interior designer Pepe Cosín, designers Cutu Mazuelos and Eva Prego of Stone Designs, Pilar Tendero of Domus magazine and furniture manufacturer Actiu.

‘After nude’ space to showcase designers with more than ten years practice under their belt

València, 14th May 2018.- The upcoming edition of Feria Hábitat Valencia, which takes place from 18th to 21st September, will be featuring a new space, ‘After nude’, that is being dedicated exclusively to established designers. It will be located just beyond the long-standing ‘nude’ Show, Hábitat’s creative hotbed, now in its 16th year of showcasing promising young designers from Spain and the international arena.

The new ‘After nude’ space enables Hábitat to overcome the traditional limitations of nude, which was dedicated solely to designers just starting out on their professional careers and who in many instances presented their first prototypes and creations at Hábitat. Now, established designers who have been working in the world of interiors and design for more than ten years have the opportunity to be present at Hábitat to show their portfolios to the world.

What this means is that Hábitat will be covering the full range of design offerings in a major exhibition that will take up almost the entire Level 2 Central Lobby Area at Feria Valencia. One part will be given over to the Salón nude, for young designers, which will be split into two areas: one for emerging designers and one for design schools. The new ‘After nude’ space will be sited just beyond, with the Ágora nude as a common thread linking the two. The Ágora nude is the space that hosts a whole range of lectures, talks and discussion groups on the subject of design.

Registration is now open

Feria Hábitat Valencia has already opened registration for both the ‘nude Show’ and the ‘After nude Show’. Anyone interested in being included in ‘After nude’ should send in a brief summarising their career as a designer thus far, together with details of the companies they have worked for.

Equally, young designers wishing to take part in the Salón nude should follow usual procedure, that is to say their designs will need to be assessed by a jury of professionals that this time round includes Pepe Cosín, the new chairman of the College of Interior Designers of the Comunitat Valenciana (CDICV); Pilar Tendero, head of Domus magazine in Spain; designers Cutu Mazuelos and Eva Prego of Stone Designs and the recent winner of the National Design Prize, Actiu, representing the business sector.

In both instances, those interested in taking part in either nude or After nude can access full information on the event, including rules and regulations, on the www.nudegeneration.com website or by e-mail from mfontes@feriavalencia.com. Designers and design practices that are members of a national association of designers will receive a 20% discount on the participation fee.

The congress will be inaugurated by Matilde Asian, Secretary of State for Tourism, and will be attended by Carmen Quintanilla, president of the Mixed Drug Commission of Congress, who will be present at the problem of drinking in the streets.

* The different spaces of the venue have hosted four shoots in the last weeks

* The flexibility and comfort offered by the venue are the keys to their choice

Feria Valencia has become an announcement stage, thanks to the confidence of the advertising agencies that bet on the venue to carry out their filming. In recent weeks, Feria Valencia has hosted four advertising shoots, three from the automotive sector and one from the fashion world. The different shootings done during these last days have been recorded in the Events Center plaza and in pavilions 5 perimeter. As regard the interior spaces, a spot has been set up on the Events centre fourth floor. Not in vain, the venue is equipped with open spaces, avant-garde architecture, spacious interior spaces or interior roads, which make Feria Valencia an ideal place to make any kind of advert or shooting. The agencies value the privacy and flexibility of Feria Valencia to carry out their filming, ensuring both the comfort during filming and the confidentiality of their projects until the advertising campaigns become a reality.

* Feria Valencia is consolidated as an ideal space for holding both business and general public events. Last weekend, Feria Valencia hosted Sport Woman, the fair for Women, Sports and Health, held in coincidence with the first appointment of the “Carrera Central Lechera Asturiana”. The 16,000 participants in the race picked up their numbers at the fair, which occupied a space of 4,000 sqm in which, in addition to a large number of exhibitors, attended workshops, courses and activities related to sports and healthy living. The easy access both with private vehicle and public transport, as well as the gross of the exhibition spaces are two of the reasons why the organization of the event has bet, for third year in a row, for Feria Valencia.

The main objectives of both Sport Woman and the race were to raise awareness among women against breast cancer, the fight against gender violence and the promotion of sports to improve health. With record numbers this multitudinous and festive event managed to form a spectacular `Marea Rosa’ thanks to all the participants.

  • The fair has sold almost all the exhibition space it planned to offer, bringing on board high profile companies such as Sancal, Viccarbe, Pedro Ortiz, Nomon, Ramis, Mesegué, Mobenia, DelaOliva, Tegar and Italian group Battistella.

Valencia, 26nd March 2018.- Unbeatable outlook for Hábitat 2018. Following last year’s successful return to its September date, Valencia’s Furniture, Lighting and Décor Fair will be taking place in September again this year, specifically from 18th to 21st September, at Feria Valencia. Almost all of the exhibitors at last year’s edition have re-booked, with around a hundred new manufacturers and brands returning to the Feria Valencia event, convinced of its cost-effectiveness and the potential it offers for doing business both in Spain and internationally.

Many of these companies are ground breakers in their respective sectors, including designers Sancal and Viccarbe, innovative brands Nomon, Tegar Mobel and Doos Design, and office and contract furniture designer and manufacturer DeLaOliva, which is a leader in its field.

The design and cutting-edge element of the show has been swelled by a significant number of top level international companies including, most notably Italian group Battistella, renowned designer and manufacturer Tonin Casa, also from Italy, along with German manufacturers such as Bordbar Design, which has won awards for its innovative designs, and Portuguese designers Fenabel and Serip, which will be showing cutting edge lighting, amongst many others.

One notable aspect of the batch of new recruits is the number of companies that offer items that complement furniture for the home such as designer bathroom specialist Buto Bath, which has sought a space of its own at the extraordinary interiors showcase that is Hábitat.

Meanwhile, the Contemporary style is set to make a qualitative and quantitative leap at the next edition of the fair. Contributing to this, without a shadow of a doubt, is the strength of Spanish companies, with new names such as Mesegué emerging all the time, and the notable presence of Portuguese companies, which are being joined this year by major players such as Eurofutton, Aparattus Design, GualTorres, ETC i Soffa and Grupo Costa & Januario. That high-end Portuguese manufacturers exhibited at Hábitat in 2017 was significant and it is clear this year that our neighbouring country believes firmly that Valencia is the place to be in terms of investing for the future.

Some of Spain’s major manufacturing enclaves – Yecla (Murcia) and La Sènia (Tarragona), for example – are also making a firm commitment to Valencia, with prominent companies such as Pedro Ortiz, Suinta, Nogal Yecla, Muebles Verge, Muebles Seres, Tobisa, Mobenia and Tegar Mobel returning to Feria Hábitat.

It is true to say that the cohort of companies from all over Spain is more than promising. The long list of names that are returning includes Ramis, Chitra, Marckeric, Angel Cerdá, Joype, Muñoz Robles, Tapizados, Somicat, Francés Bañón, Plicosa Spain, Galician designer Manama and companies from Lucena including Espejo, amongst others.

Hábitat is currently putting together a preview list of all the new and returning exhibitors that will be available to view online shortly to help professionals plan their visit to Feria Valencia.

90% occupancy six months ahead of opening day

With six months still to go to opening day, the fair has already hit 90% of its expected occupancy rate. As the event’s director Daniel Marco explains, “we are still working on increasing the offer on show at Hábitat and adding more new exhibitors,” although the aim is for “the standard and quality of our showcase to be as high as possible. What visitors will see at this Hábitat is quality products, with new and innovative collections that will enable them to create a point of difference in their retail outlets or their projects.”

For Marco, “the feature that defines us and makes us different is just that: the quality of our exhibitors. We proved that with the 2017 fair and will continue to do so with this year’s edition, with more products and even better quality.”

Valencia 5th March 2018.- the fourth edition of Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar is already showing signs of being another success story. Spain’s foremost event for the home textiles and decorating trades has secured repeat bookings from 86% of the companies that exhibited at the last fair and, as of today and with more than seven months to go before opening day, 140 companies and brands are already on board.

What is more, it is not just that almost the entire complement of exhibitors at the last few showcases are returning, but a number that had participated in the early days but for one reason or another had not returned, have now done so. These include industry leaders such as digital printing specialist TexAthenea, a major player in the contract sector.

Other returnees joining the Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar showcase include Barcelona-based Velfont, a leading manufacturer of bed linen, which has decided to renew its investment in the event, which is organised by Feria Valencia with backing from Ateval-Home Textiles From Spain.

As things stand at the moment the fair’s managers expect exhibitor numbers to overtake the last edition’s total of 171 companies and brands. It is worth noting that the marketing drive has barely started, yet the organisers are already receiving calls from top-level companies interested in being part of a platform that, with its fourth edition still to take place, has already established itself as Spain’s foremost business forum and a springboard for exports, with buyers hailing from 49 countries in 2017.

For Máximo Solaz, the fair’s director, one of the keys to the fair fulfilling its expectations lies in the “positive outcomes and efficiency of the showcase that is Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar”. “This year we are holding the fourth edition of the fair and have demonstrated that we are a real, effective business platform for our exhibitors,” he explains. “Business is done here, visitors see what is on trend and innovation is on show too” says Solaz, who also underscores that “this year we are back in the setting of Madrid’s Caja Mágica, a modern venue with all the services that both exhibitors and visitors really appreciate.”

The next edition of Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar takes place from 12th to 14th September de 2018 at the Caja Mágica exhibition centre in Madrid (Cno. Perales 23).

  • The kitchen furniture and equipment fair was promoted at the recent edition of Maderalia and will present to the international marketplace this coming April in Milan.

Valencia, 22th February 2018 – The dates for the next edition of Espacio Cocina – SICI have been set. The third Kitchen Furniture and Equipment Fair, organized jointly by Feria Valencia and the Asociación de Mueble de Cocina AMC (Kitchen Furniture Manufacturers Association) is to take place from 28th January to 1st February 2019 at the Valencia exhibition venue, once again alongside Cevisama, the great ceramic tile and bathroom trade fair. Espacio Cocina – SICI is thus consolidating its position on the European trade fair circuit as one of the major events for the sector and, without doubt, as Spain’s top platform for business, new products, trends and innovation for the kitchen furniture, accessories and built-in appliances industry.

Also, the show is once again sharing a venue with Cevisama, with the aim of continuing to foster synergies between the kitchen, bathroom and ceramic tile sectors and visitors who are installers, specifiers, interior designers and decorators. It is worth remembering that 7,456 visitors attended the last edition of Espacio Cocina – SICI – twice as many as the number who registered specifically for the fair the first time it was held and representing 34% of the total number of visitors estimated to have flocked to the venue, taking into account the migration from Cevisama and Promat. A significant number of those who registered specifically for Espacio Cocina – SICI were international visitors.

Promoting at Maderalia

Now that the dates for the next edition have been announced, the entire Espacio Cocina – SICI team has boosted its efforts to promote the fair, led by director Miguel Bixquert and AMC manager Sebastián Acedo. One of the most intensive initiatives so far, in fact, was rolled out lasts weeks at Maderalia, the Fair for Materials and Components for the Furniture-making, Carpentry and Decorating Trades, of which the kitchen accessories sector is a particularly significant part.

Espacio Cocina – SICI manned a stand of its own over the five days of Maderalia. Facilitated by the AMC, the stand served as a meeting point for both the association’s members that were visiting the fair and for the thousands of industry professionals visiting Maderalia, who had the opportunity to find out at first hand all about the upcoming edition of Espacio Cocina – SICI.

Growth in the international marketplace

In addition to the activity at Maderalia, Espacio Cocina – SICI will be implementing another major promotional drive at the Milan international furniture and kitchen fair in April. The aim is to promote Espacio Cocina – SICI in an international context, to all operators in the industry, from manufacturers and retail professionals to specifiers and the specialist media present at the event.

The internationalization of Espacio Cocina – SICI is set to be one of the 2019 fair’s priority objectives. As the event’s president, business owner Juan Luis Salvador recalls, “15.2% of our visitors last time were foreign, from 48 countries in all, including 20% from Portugal followed, to lesser degrees and in order, by France, Italy, Algeria and Germany.”

The fair will be seeking to build on this background and “increase attendance by foreign visitors and buyers from the markets that are of interest to our exhibitors. Espacio Cocina – SICI should be one of the top platforms for those in our industry wanting to develop internationally and we will also be bolstering the fair as the prime showcase for our entire industry.”

Biennial timber, wood and machinery fair returns to pre-crisis levels and will be bringing 466 direct exhibitors together with an offering from783 international brands and manufacturers from 15 countries, laid out over 61,000m2 of exhibition space. FIMMA – Maderalia runs concurrently with CEVISAMA . International commitment: FIMMA- Maderalia set to host trade missions from 20 countries, notably from north Africa, Europe and Latin America.

Valencia, 2nd February 2018.- Next week, from Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th February, Feria Valencia will be hosting the biggest edition of FIMMA – Maderalia of recent years. Spain’s great biennial fair for materials, components and technology for the furniture, wood and interior design industries will be housed in Pavilions 6, 7 and 8. The fair is returning to pre-crisis levels with a showcase comprising 466 direct exhibitors and a total offering from 783 international manufacturers and brands – a 30% increase over the figure for the last edition of the fair. FIMMA – Maderalia runs concurrently with CEVISAMA (5-6 February).

The proportion of foreign exhibitors that make up these figures is impressive: 28% of the total showcase consists of foreign exhibitors, hailing from 15 countries, with Italy in the lead, followed by companies from Germany, Portugal, Austria and France. Completing the picture are exhibitors from Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Holland, Ireland, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States. FIMMA – Maderalia will as a result be gathering the most representative offering from Spain and the rest of the world of both wood-related products, materials and furniture components and technology, machinery and software for an industry that is now showing clear signs of recovery

Driving the industry’s recovery

Indeed, according to the Spanish Observatory for the Furniture Market, which is part of the AIDIMME Institute of Technology, the supply sector last year recorded 2.6% growth, meaning it has now been growing for four years. In addition, exports of processed timber also grew last year: by 10.1% from January to November according to figures published by ICEX, consolidating an upward trend in an industry that turns over more than 6,000 million euros a year and employs 8,000 workers.

The machinery and technology for the timber/wood sectors, for their part, have also made progress, with an annual turnover above 350 million euros, according to trade association AFEMA. Exporting is pivotal for 120 Spanish companies in these sectors as 75% of their sales are abroad. The upcoming edition of FIMMA- Maderalia will therefore reflect the positive mood of these industries, which are hoping to receive a boost to their businesses from a highly technical visitor profile that ranges from carpenters to installers, architects, furniture makers, designers and specifiers.

Substantial presence of buyers from North Africa.

The fair is also consolidating its commitment to become an increasingly international platform for exports: next week, at the fair’s invitation, trade missions will be arriving from the foreign markets that are the exhibitors’ prime targets. One of the most notable of these and one of the biggest groups, is the mission from North Africa and the Middle East (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and the Lebanon). The next biggest group is of buyers from Latin America (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Guatemala). There will also be a significant contingent from Europe, with buyers from Portugal, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Sweden and Switzerland in particular having confirmed they will be attending,

More than 61,000 m2 of exhibition space, plus new products and international architects

All in all, FIMMA – Maderalia is getting set for an outstanding edition at which exhibitors will be showing more than a thousand new products across more than 61,000 square metres of exhibition space, spread across four huge pavilions: pavilion 8 and level 2 of pavilion 7 are dedicated to FIMMA, whilst level 3 of pavilions 6 and 7 are housing Maderalia. Wireless systems built in to furniture for charging mobile phones, wood that neither gets wet nor burns, anti-theft locks and 4th generation technology adapted to the industry are just some of the new products exhibitors have announced.

As well as the commercial content of the fair the organizers have put together an extensive programme of parallel events that involves a very significant number of international architects and specifiers, including Japanese architect Shuichi Kobari of Toyo Ito, Puerto Rican architect Héctor Ruiz and Spanish architects and designers Jose María Tomás, Ramón Esteve, Daniel Solves, Juan Bláquez and César Ruiz-Larrea, who will be speaking as part of the series of lectures on  design, architecture and the new materials for contract projects.

FIMMA – Maderalia is also hosting other initiatives including a forum about the contract sector for automatic door manufacturers and professionals, a series of lectures and activities, arranged by AEIM and themed on wood and its use in architecture and construction and an ‘Easy contract’ installation designed by Valencian architect Ramón Esteve that will replicate different rooms in an avant garde city hotel using materials donated by exhibitors. ‘MasterChef’ and media sensation Pepe Rodríguez will add an extra dimension to the fair, too, when he visits to launch a new set of locks.

Valencia, 29h January 2018.- ‘Wireless’ mobile phone charging systems built in to furniture, wood that neither gets wet nor burns, anti-theft locks and 4.0 generation adapted machinery and technology…these are just some of the 1000-plus new products and innovations that will be on show from 6th to 9th February, devised by more than 750 international companies and brands set to gather at Feria Valencia at an historic edition of FIMMA – Maderalia.

The fact is that the celebrated biennial fair for materials, accessories, machinery and technology for the furniture, timber, carpentry, interior design and decorating sectors will not only be bringing the main players in the industry together but is also poised to be the great showcase for innovations and new products ever, marking the way forward for these sectors over the short to medium term.

Sustainable man-made materials that feel like wood

As regards materials, Maderalia is showing new developments such as the new Water-Resistant Reconstituted Wood (MRH/WRW), a fire-resistant plywood, unbreakable doors, natural materials reproduced by digital printing, armoured doors that protect against theft, noise and temperature changes and quick–to-install panels for use in refurbishment projects. Other stand-out products are large format slats for cork floors, anti-bumping and anti-pick lock cylinders and presence sensors built in to Led strip lights, amongst others.

All of the above mark a leap forward in interior design and refurbishment solutions, as do pieces of wood that hide elegant furniture, handles that dress doors and doors that dress homes, walls turned into pieces of furniture, and a wireless system for charging mobile phones built into the furniture itself.

The aim is to make wood fashionable again, where seeing, touching and smelling wood is key to a pleasant experience. New solutions in coatings are crucial if this aim is to be achieved and these will be on show at this upcoming edition of FIMMA-Maderalia. Including coatings that optimize the wood’s reaction to fire, the use of high sheen finishes in digital printing, customization of products by using decorative melamine tops, organic polyurethane wood varnishes, super scratch-resistant pigmented finishes, super-matt, non-marking and self-regenerating finishes, exterior flooring in “vintage” colours and mineral inks for use on wood.

Other eye-catching exhibits include innovative automation devices such as a motorized, remote-controlled opening and closing system for large format blinds, solutions for assembling furniture in record time, cantilever shelving that is ideal for small premises, invisible wardrobe runners and hidden hinges for flush doors.

Processes that are more efficient. Technology that is more connected

FIMMA’s exhibitors will be revealing more sustainable mechanized processes and technologies adapted to the new 4.0 generation industry requirements. The most notable of these are processes such as drying parquet varnish using LED, ultra-flexible systems for drilling, grinding and inserting fittings, mechanized systems for cutting board without CNC machines and systems for drilling horizontally by nesting.

All of the above comes in the form of innovative machinery on show at Feria Valencia including complete machining centres within five square metres, rotary air flotation tables for sawing units, multi-function tables and single circuit CNC vacuum consoles, advanced technical developments in lamination, coatings, varnishes, digital printing and portable sawmills for processing small tree trunks.

The fair will also be showcasing software and technological solutions including apps that give real time information on how machines and production lines are functioning, the most advanced CAD programmes and interconnected online suppliers, buyers and sellers.
