Feria Hábitat València, Textilhogar and Espacio Cocina SICI run from 30th September to 3rd October at Feria Valencia, with every last detail now in place.

The three events occupy 96,000m2 across eight halls, with all the exhibition space available taken up, by 925 companies and brands including 20% from outside Spain.

A hotel designed entirely with ‘made in Spain’ products, a cutting-edge Mediterranean-inspired textile space, a ground-breaking insight into the kitchen of the future and a programme of more than 100 talks are just some of the attractions at the upcoming Feria Valencia event.

Valencia, 23rd September 2024.- Full speed ahead! From next Monday, 30th September, to Thursday 3rd October, Feria Valencia is set to host one of the biggest joint interiors, home textiles and kitchen furniture and equipment trade fairs of recent years. With this major, global event, Feria Hábitat València is further driving the growth the fair has experienced in recent editions, whilst complementing its own offering with new editions of the long-established Textilhogar Home Textiles Premium and the biennial Espacio Cocina SICI. fairs

The figures reflect the magnitude of the event and its pulling-power. The three fairs will in fact completely fill the eight halls on both levels of Feria Valencia’s Foro Centro, with a total of 96,000 square metres of exhibition space. The final line-up comprises 925 brands and companies from the three sectors of industry represented at the different fairs, with 20% of exhibitors coming from 16 countries other than Spain.

Feria Hábitat València – always evolving

Hábitat is once again set to be the main driver of this joint event. There appears to be no end in sight to the growth the ‘made in Spain’ interiors industry’s major fair has experienced year-on-year recently and 2024 sees it bring together 384 direct exhibitors and 655 companies represented4% up on last year’s numbers and almost 9% up on 2022, the last time the three fairs ran together.

Exhibitors include the leading players in the field of furniture, lighting and décor, with an entire hall being given over this year to the top international décor and interior design companies. 21% of the showcase comprises foreign companies including, notably, high-end, cutting-edge Italian design companies. Also worth noting is that a dynamic campaign targeted at Spanish and international buyers has recruited more than 3000 buyers from 70 countries to visit as guests. The initiative has been supported by Feria Valencia itself, Anieme, the Generalitat Valenciana (Valencia Regional Government)IVACE + i Internacional and ICEX.

Hábitat continues to grow, occupying 78,000 square metres across six halls. This year, in response to high demand in the tourism sector and the field of hotel renovation, it is turning the spotlight on the hotel industry and the contract sector. The fair has in fact partnered with the Instituto Tecnológico Hotelero – ITH to offer a series of exclusive talks about the hotel industry that will be given by the leading hotel chains and by project managers such as Tom Ito, head of hospitality at the world’s largest architecture practice, Gensler.

In line with this move, Hábitat is setting up ‘Hotel Hábitat’, an innovative installation devised by architect Héctor Ruiz-Velázquez. Comprising 800 m2, the installation recreates an authentic designer hotel using the best products from Spain’s interiors industry.

Other attractions at the fair are Salón nude, the hothouse of emerging design that this year features designers from France, Argentina and Spain, and the ‘Ágora nude’ series of lectures on trends and design, with speakers including stellar designers such as Inma Bermúdez and Ramón Esteve.

This year’s Feria Hábitat València has already sparked interest on social media and has secured seven of the top influencers in the field of interior design and décor to be ambassadors for the fair, with all poised to post about what is going on in the aisles on their networks.

Textilhogar, textiles for the home and the contract sector

Textilhogar Home Textiles Premium, for its part, is consolidating its position as Hábitat’s best travelling companion and this year brings together 61 direct exhibitors and 183 companies represented, 11% of which are from France, Holland and Portugal.

The best designs in textiles for the home and for contract projects are a highlight of this edition of the fair. A dedicated space for textile manufacturers features designer Sigfrido Serra’s installation as the main attraction. Serra has been named one of the creatives of the year and devised textile fantasy ‘Orange Forest’ in partnership with Interiores magazine. The Mediterranean-inspired ‘Forest’ also houses the AITEX trends in textiles zone.

Textilhogar is set to boost its international business platform as well and, in association with ATEVAL – Home Textiles From Spain and supported by IVACE and ICEX,has arranged an inbound mission for international buyers and specifiers from 38 countries to visit the fair.

Espacio Cocina SICI looks to the kitchens of the future

Even-numbered years like 2024 see Spain’s only 100% trade fair dedicated to the kitchen furniture and equipment sector return to Feria Valencia. Espacio Cocina SICI takes place alongside Hábitat and Textilhogar once again, having done so for the first time in 2022. This year, it offers more to see and will attract even more visitors, with 65 direct exhibitors and 87 companies represented, a major proportion of which are manufacturers of kitchen furniture.

The kitchen has become firmly established as the hub of our homes, and this year a revolutionary setting created by Ximo Roca’s design consultancy affords them a spectacular backdrop, spread along several different ‘routes’ through the hall.

Supported by trade association AMC, Espacio Cocina SICI also features unique spaces such as the AMC Kitchen LAB, aimed at suppliers to the industry, and the Auditorio AMC Kitchen Lab, which over the four days the fair runs for will be staging all sorts of events from cooking demonstrations to technical sessions centred on the marble industry, kitchen shops and a session with famous kitchen specialist YouTuber Dani Colino.

It is worth remembering that these three fairs, Feria Hábitat València, Textilhogar and Espacio Cocina SICI, are not the only ones running simultaneously next week at Feria Valencia. Also running simultaneously, albeit from 1st to 3rd October, are Iberflora and Eurobrico, two trade fairs that share synergies in the fields of landscaping, the home and sustainability.

The creative Sigfrido Serra reveals some of the key points of ‘Orange Forest’, the innovative installation created with the magazine Interiores that recreates Valencian tradition with a new contemporary perspective and that will also incorporate the AITEX trends space.

“At Orange Forest, every detail is designed to create an immersive experience. The fabrics, which are the protagonists, play a key role, not only as visual elements but also as tactile ones ,” explains Serra.

Valencia, September 10, 2024 – Sigfrido Serra  and his team at Sigfrido Serra Studio continue to redefine interior design and architecture with a unique blend of innovation, sustainability and commitment to excellence. In the next edition of Textilhogar Home Textiles Premium , which will be held from September 30 to October 3 alongside Feria Hábitat València  and Espacio Cocina SICI , Serra has created, in collaboration with Interiores magazine, the installation ‘Orange Forest’, a space that transcends borders, promoting interaction and creativity in an environment that celebrates natural beauty and Valencian tradition, all from a new contemporary perspective.

In this interview, Sigfrido Serra reveals the ins and outs of a project that is new to the fair and will amaze the thousands of visitors who pass through Pavilion 3 on Level 3  of Feria Valencia.

How did the idea come about and what did you want to convey with this project?

The idea for Orange Forest was born from the desire to create something more than a conventional exhibition space. We wanted to design an environment in which visitors would feel immersed in a complete sensorial experience. Rather than limiting it to a simple display of textiles and furniture, we wanted this space to represent an invitation to interact, experiment and reflect on design.

The main inspiration comes from nature, in particular from the landscape of the Albufera in Valencia, with its characteristic orange sunset. At the same time, we focused on fusing that tradition with avant-garde and innovation in design, creating something that reflects the best of both worlds.

How would you describe the experience you offer visitors within this space?

At Orange Forest, every detail is designed to create an immersive experience. The fabrics, which are the protagonists, play a key role, not only as visual elements but also as tactile ones. We want the visitor to touch, feel and connect with the texture, with the softness of the organic shapes we have created. As they walk through the space, they encounter warm and evocative colours, reminiscent of the orange tones of the sunset. It is an invitation to connect with nature, but also to think about how contemporary design elements can dialogue with it. In addition, the use of materials and the arrangement of furniture promote a more social, more collaborative interaction. It is not just a place to see, but to feel and live.

There seems to be a very clear intention to not only present products, but to offer an experience. Tell us a little more about the collaborators you have had on this project and how they have contributed to that experience.

Exactly, the idea of this space is to create an immersive experience, and to achieve this it was essential to have the collaboration of brands that share this same vision. The Masie, for example, has provided the furniture that, in addition to being functional, complements the aesthetics we wanted to convey: soft, organic lines and a natural elegance that invites you to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The KP rugs also play a key role, as they not only add texture and comfort, but also help to create fluid transit areas and rest spaces within the stand.

And of course, Harbour Fabrics from the CJM Group, whose textiles are the main protagonists. We chose their products because we wanted visitors to be able to interact with high-quality fabrics, which not only look good, but offer an extraordinary tactile experience.

It is clear that a lot of work has gone into the selection of materials and how they interact with each other in the space. Tell us more about the choice of orange as the guiding thread of the design.

The colour orange has a very powerful symbolic value for us. First, it is a direct reference to the Valencian landscape, to the warmth and beauty of its sunsets, but it is also a colour that transmits energy, creativity and optimism. By using it as the predominant tone, we wanted to evoke that feeling of renewal, of a new beginning, but also to convey a connection with the earth and with nature.

In a world that is increasingly concerned about environmental impact and sustainability, orange also represents that commitment to nature that we wanted to highlight. By integrating natural elements into the design and using colours that evoke the earth and the sun, we achieve a balance between the emotional and the aesthetic, something very important to us.

How does sustainability manifest itself at Orange Forest?

Sustainability is a priority in all our projects, and Orange Forest is no exception. From the beginning, we were clear that we wanted to create a space that was not only visually appealing, but also environmentally responsible. This is reflected in the choice of materials, from textiles to furniture, which are made with sustainability criteria.

Furthermore, we have sought to design a space that invites reflection on the role of design in preserving the environment. The forest recreated within the stand is a symbol of this commitment, a reminder that design can and should be in harmony with nature. Each element in Orange Forest has been thought out to minimise its environmental impact, without sacrificing aesthetics or functionality.

Throughout your career, you have worked on both national and international projects. How has this experience influenced the design of Orange Forest?

My experience in international projects has been key to understanding the different ways in which people relate to space and how design can influence that relationship. Orange Forest is a fusion of local influences from Valencia, with its rich artisan tradition and connection to nature, and global trends that demand more collaborative and sustainable spaces.

Each project we carry out at the studio, whether in Valencia or in cities like Madrid, Barcelona or even abroad, teaches us something new about how spaces can be used in different ways. This diversity of experiences is what allows us to continue innovating, and in the case of Orange Forest, it has been fundamental to create a space that is not only relevant locally, but can have an impact beyond our borders.

Finally, Sigfrido, what do you hope visitors take away from their visit to Orange Forest?

My greatest wish is that visitors leave Orange Forest feeling like they have experienced something unique. Beyond aesthetic beauty, I hope they take away a reflection on how design can be both functional and sustainable, how it can inspire us to connect with our surroundings, and how the spaces we inhabit can influence our well-being. I want them to feel the warmth of the colors, the softness of the materials, and to feel part of this homage to nature and innovation. If we can get people to stop, observe, and feel that connection, at least for a moment, then we will have achieved our goal.

More than 20 lectures, workshops and round tables slated for a full programme at ‘Ágora nude’, one of the key events in the set of parallel activities taking place at the upcoming edition of Feria Hábitat València, Textilhogar and Espacio Cocina SICI.

Leading creative figures such as Ramón Esteve and Inma Bermúdez are just two of the professionals poised to deliver lectures.

Valencia, 6th September 2024.- Feria Valencia is getting ready right now for the start on 30th this month of what is set to be an historic edition of Feria Hábitat Valencia, alongside Textilhogar and Espacio Cocina SICI. Together with the vast product offering from almost a thousand international companies and brands, one of the great incentives to attend will be the lectures and other activities slated to take place, notably the lectures programmed in as part of ‘Ágora nude’.

‘Ágora nude’ is one of the three major backdrops – together with the Hotel Hábitat València and the Espacio Cocina SICI lecture zone – for this September’s programme of parallel events and activities. Located in the Level 3 Lobby Area, next to the halls dedicated to design, ‘Ágora nude’ has arranged a series of lectures with a special focus on sustainability, design, trends and the new lifestyles and ways of living and working.

From neuroarchitecture to weather and materials

The series of lectures starts on Monday 30th September barely an hour after the fairs’ official opening, with a session led by designer Natalia Adán and featuring architect Muriel Bourgeay talking about materials, architect Benjamín Peniche tackling design and landscaping, and a round-table sponsored by UECKO. The session will address so-called neuroarchitecture through materials, with designer Aitor García de Vicuña, amongst others, also taking part. A talk sponsored by the Fundació de Disseny will round off this inaugural session, along with a fascinating presentation by sleep specialist Gonzalo Pin. Courtesy of sponsor Gomarco, Pin will talk about how to understand sleep and mechanisms for taking care of it.

The second session of ‘Ágora nude’ kicks off with a lecture by architect Carlos Salazar, followed by talk on circular design by Andreu World. Next up, a panel discussion sponsored by Pino will look at the new forms of community living, with panellists including Enrique Schonberg (Design Institute of Spain) and design & build specialists Sutega, amongst others.

Trends specialist Pepa Casado is set to follow. In partnership with Formica, she will be taking a look at the trends coming up for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The late afternoon session begins with what is always a fascinating account of the multidisciplinary team at CuldeSac’s experiences, and a roundtable centred on the Domaine de Boisbuchet international research centre for design and architecture featuring international designer Inma Bermúdez, Premio Nacional de Diseño 2022, as one of the panellists. A talk by Kave Home is set to bring this second day to a close.

Midway through the fair, on Wednesday 2nd October, the ‘Ágora nude’ programme opens with two roundtables: one led by the Consejo de Interioristas (Council of Interior Designers) and one by Andreu World that will review their Concurso de Diseño (Design Competition). At midday, Ramón Esteve, one of the most eminent names in Spanish architecture today, takes centre stage with a lecture on design as a sensory experience.

Next, at the third roundtable of the day, textile company Equipo DRT will be drilling down into the secrets of textile design, with panellists including landmark Valencian designer Vicent Martínez.

Focus on textiles for the home and contract projects

On the third day of ‘Ágora nude’ the late afternoon session will focus entirely on textiles, with a series of talks arranged by the Instituto Tecnológico AITEX that will address the challenges the textile industry is facing in the immediate future in both the home and the contract sectors. The talks will address variables such as the circular economy, the future of electronic textiles, trends in home textiles and the most innovative materials for this sector.

In the final session, on Thursday 3rd October, the focus will be on trends in interiors, with a presentation by the Observatorio de Tendencias del Hábitat (OTH – Observatory for Trends in Interiors) and another about a fascinating ‘digital twin’ project for trialling furniture. Two of the industry’s leading companies, Viccarbe and Actiu are also part of this programme, with Viccarbe delivering a lecture on design and Actiu leading a round-table discussion on the Women in Office Design initiative and giving a lecture on the importance of building bridges between design and industry.

The full ‘Ágora nude’ programme, the lectures to be delivered in the Zona Conferencias Espacio Cocina SICI (Espacio Cocina SICI Lecture Space) and the Escenario ITH (ITH Stage), plus all the exhibitor activities scheduled can be viewed at https://www.feriahabitatvalencia.com/agenda-de-actividades/

Wood and technology biennial trade fair 40% bigger and, in combination with Intralogistics VLC show, poised to showcase more than a thousand companies and brands, with 35% of exhibitors coming from 24 countries in the year’s most international trade show.

More than 120 talks and presentations, ten exhibition spaces, educational events and visits to historic buildings in intense Programme of Events.

FIMMA + Maderalia opens its doors next Tuesday, 14th May, running through to Friday 17th and occupying six halls on levels 2 and 3 at Feria Valencia.

Valencia, 13th May 2024.- All is set for a massive FIMMA + Maderalia. Spain’s great biennial trade fair for the wood, furniture, carpentry and contract sector is poised to celebrate its 40th anniversary in style next week, in what is expected to be an historic edition. Every aspect of the fair will be bigger too, especially the offering on show, the additional activities and the number of international exhibitors present.

The event takes place from Tuesday 14th to Friday 17th May in parallel with logistical solutions show Intralogistics VLC.  The figures for the two shows are particularly impressive as the joint offering will consist of over 1000 exhibiting companies and brands, occupying more than 80,000m2 of Levels 1 and 2 at the Valencia exhibition centre and making it the biggest industry event taking place in Spain in the first half of 2024.

FIMMA + Maderalia 2024 in figures

Driving these impressive figures is the fact that the biennial FIMMA+Maderalia fair is currently riding high, with an offering reminiscent of the huge FIMMA+Maderalia shows of the 1990s and 2000s. The fact is that the wood industry’s biennial fair is 40% bigger this year, taking up six halls with 12% more exhibition content courtesy of 440 direct exhibitors and 925 companies and brands represented. What is particularly notable about these numbers is the extremely high proportion of international exhibitors: 35% of the total number are foreign, hailing from 24 countries. This makes the fair Feria Valencia’s most international event in terms of products on show. Notable at FIMMA+Maderalia is the strong presence of countries such as Italy (42 exhibitors), Portugal (24), China (17), Germany (12) and France (11), and there will also exhibitors from Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Holland, India, Ireland, Malaysia, Poland, San Marino, Slovenia, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Uruguay.

What is more, this edition of FIMMA + Maderalia has also prompted significant interest amongst foreign visitors, as is well demonstrated by the hundred international buyers from 23 countries who will be taking part in the trade mission being co-ordinated by ARVET, COFEARFE and IVACE +I Internacional (35% more than took part last time round).  An international specifier mission is set to boost these figures. Arranged by ICEX, it is targeted at the industry’s key markets, such as Morocco, Portugal, Italy and Germany.

The ‘B2B Company Meetings’ between international visitors and exhibiting companies will be another significant feature of the cosmopolitan aspect of the fair. The initiative is being organised and promoted by ARVET, COFEAFE and IVACE + i Internacional and almost a hundred professionals from 20 countries have already registered to take part.

Exhibitions, programme and y digitalization

This year, the products on show at FIMMA + Maderalia will be complemented by   ten themed exhibitions and areas, such as a co-working space designed by José Manuel Ferrero, a timber-constructed house being built live, a carpentry workshop and a zone showcasing new products and materials.

Notable too is the Lecture Programme that has been put together, featuring more than 120 talks and technical sessions. Live demonstrations relating to industry 4.0, talks by architects about the contract sector, full educational courses, specialist presentations on 3D-printing, coverings and sustainable design are just some of the topics being covered by the impressive programme. Building with wood will be a particular highlight, with dedicated educational sessions being delivered in the Maderaula. The notion of showcasing the virtues of wood as a material to use in construction will be taken a step further with a series of visits to historic buildings such as the Palau de la Generalitat, as part of the ‘València Open Wood’ initiative.

FIMMA + Maderalia will also be demonstrating a commitment to innovation, digitalization and social networks in the form of a ‘Startup Zone’ where five young companies will be showcasing their latest innovations geared to the industry such as artificial intelligence projects. The fair will also be hosting visits from the leading specialist ‘influencers’ and ‘makers’,who will beposting about everything that happens at the fair on their platforms.

“An historic edition”

The Organising Committees for both FIMMA and Maderalia have said they are satisfied now, following the long months of work leading up to the fair and expect it to be “an historic edition”. For Maderalia president Alejandro Bermejo “prospects are very good. The increase in the numbers of exhibitors and visitors shows the fair is growing and indicates it will be a success, making it the leading event both in Spain and in Europe. The major players in the wood, refurbishment and construction sectors gather at Maderalia. The majority of the associated companies’ clients come to visit, as do heads of purchasing, installers, specifiers and so on. It is a perfect showcase for products and innovations and for interacting with regular and potential customers”.

FIMMA Organising Committee chairman Santi Riera, for his part, feels that “the outlook could not be better. A huge effort has been invested this year to show the latest technologies in manufacturing, along with the innovations that are setting trends amongst manufacturers. Everything that is going on in the sector will be on show at FIMMA + Maderalia and nobody should miss going”.

Opening times and tickets

FIMMA + Maderalia runs from Tuesday 14th to Friday 17th May and is open from 09.00 to 18.00, closing an hour earlier, at 17.00, on Friday. Entry is via the Foro Centro, with FIMMA located in halls 1 and 2 on Level 2 and Maderalia in halls 1, 2, 3 and 4 on Level 3.

The Institute is thus a strategic partner for Hábitat, a fair that, together with Textilhogar and Espacio Cocina SICI comprises a substantial showcase for the contract sector and has set itself the aim, for this upcoming edition, of becoming an instrument for promoting innovation and design in the hotel industry, including modernising and transforming hotel rooms through technology.

Workshops to focus on hotel space design

What does the agreement translate into? Feria Hábitat Valencia and the ITH will together be inviting professionals in the hotel, catering and hospitality sectors, plus interior designers and contract experts, to take part in a series of workshops centred on designing spaces.

The workshops will take place while the fair is running and will highlight the most innovative solutions for the industry, referencing the ‘ITH TechYRoom’ concept – a network of showrooms created by the ITH and the Generalitat Valenciana that promotes technological change and modernisation in hotels in the Comunitat Valenciana and is a model that can be replicated across the industry.

Unique installations to showcase trends in hotels

The fair will also feature a number of designs for hotel bedrooms and communal areas, based on emerging trends in interiors. This series of unique room sets will be created by highly regarded designers and interior designers and will offer contemporary, comfortable spaces based on re-design and environmental sustainability in line with the concept of circular economy.

A unique offering drawing an international audience

From 29th September to 3rd October, Feria Valencia will be hosting the leading fairs for the furniture, lighting, decorating, home textiles and kitchen equipment trades. Feria Hábitat València, Textilhogar Home Textiles Premium y Espacio Cocina SICI constitute the foremost showcase for the home and contract sectors – a large-scale event that draws large numbers of both Spanish and international visitors. The highly successful formula comprises more than 90,000 square metres of exhibition space, with 48,000 professionals visiting from 70 countries.

Technology Institute AIDIMME driving launch of ‘Innovation Essentials Show’ and ‘FIMMA Future’ zones, set to showcase technology, materials, R+D processes, and innovative and disruptive products against backdrop of upcoming edition of FIMMA + Maderalia, 14th – 17th May 2024.

Technology Institute also set to organise tours of historic buildings where wood is a major feature, such as the Palau de la Generalitat, during FIMMA + Maderalia and as part of ‘València Open Wood’ initiative.

Valencia, 11th April 2024.- FIMMA + Maderalia 2024 is adding yet more new spaces given over to trends and innovation. The upcoming edition of the Materials, Technology and Solutions biennial, geared to the Furniture, Wood and Contract sectors, runs from 14th to 17th May at Feria Valencia and will feature two exclusive areas showing technology, materials and innovative and disruptive products, whilst promoting the R+D that is going on in these sectors through talks and technical sessions with a distinctly practical focus.

The two spaces, titled the ‘Innovation Essentials Show’ and ‘FIMMA Future’, are two disruptive initiatives conceived and coordinated by the AIDIMME Technology Institute. AIDIMME is the driving force behind the scheme, which is designed to promote a broad segment of the value chain of the sectors of industry represented at the fair. The initiatives embrace everything from materials and the raw materials used to make them, products and production processes, to industry regulations covering the quality and safety of goods while they are being used, mandatory compliance with legislation, laboratory trials and certifications, R+D and training.

‘Innovation Essentials Show’

This exhibition area, set to be in Hall 3, Level 3 at FIMMA + Maderalia, will showcase the product innovations that exhibitors are showing at the fair and will comprise a selection of around a hundred components, elements and finished products that are about to be launched onto the market.

The technical details of the items selected will be displayed alongside each item, together with the stand number of the exhibitor concerned. In addition, technical advisors from AIDIMME will be available to answer any queries visitors may have. Proposals for items to be exhibited can be sent to AIDIMME now, by email to

maderalia@aidime.es.

‘FIMMA Future’

The other AIDIMME initiative at FIMMA + Maderalia is the new ‘FIMMA Future’ space. Located in Hall 1 on the biennial trade fair’s Level 2, it will show the new manufacturing processes using layering technologies – commonly referred to as 3D-printing – that are used to make products or parts with amazing geometric lines, in both metal and polymers.

‘FIMMA Future’ will focus on technologies that can be deployed in manufacturing and for products that are already being used in sectors such as aviation, aeronautics, the automotive and naval industries and, in this instance, the furniture, wood and carpentry sectors.

València Open Wood

Another highlight of the programme being put together by the Technology Institute for the fair is the series of guided visits to emblematic buildings where wood is a major feature. For the ‘València Open Wood’ initiative, AIDIMME has scheduled visits to significant historic buildings such as Valencia’s ‘San Vicente Ferrer’ Faculty of Theology, built at the end of the 18th century, and the Palau de la Generalitat Valenciana, which dates back to the early 15th century.

The times for these visits will be confirmed soon and will be posted on the fair’s website. Visits to more contemporary buildings are set to be added, to show how wood can still play a key part in a building’s structure.

AIDIMME highly committed

Launching these three initiatives is not the full measure of the value proposition  AIDIMME will be delivering for FIMMA + Maderalia to mark its special, 40th anniversary, edition. The Technology Institute – which since it came into being as AIDIMME has always had strong links with the fair – will also be playing an active part in all the events relating to wood construction such as, for example, the talks its specialists will be giving in the ‘Casa Hábitat Mediterráneo’ zone.

Some very technical presentations are set to be given in this zone, relating to research into the forest environment (the ‘WoodForest Satellite’ Project for example), building refurbishment and new builds where wood is a major material. To complement the talks there will be practical explanations in the form of workshops on every aspect of the current regulations such as the Código Técnico de la Edificación (Building Regulations Code), the tests that assess the suitability of materials and products, and the developments such as the new generation of CLT panels being driven by the AVANCLT project.

FIMMA + Maderalia will also be hosting the Annual General Meeting of the Plataforma Tecnológica Forestal Española y sus Industrias Derivadas (Spanish Forestry and Associated Industries Technology Platform, PTFOR). AIDIMME is the current chair of the Plataforma and will take the opportunity to present the PTFOR Strategic Research Schedule for the next few years.

In this regard, Nude offers an environment in which to discover trends and explore the innovations that are appearing in the world of interiors through the creative, curious eyes of emerging talent. The show is structured in three parts: the Design Studios zone, featuring emerging designers, the Design Schools zone and Ágora nude, a space given over to talks and round tables focused on design and the culture of design. It takes place this year as part of Feria Hábitat València, from 30th September to 3rd October coinciding, also, with Textilhogar Home Textiles Premium and Espacio Cocina SICI.

Exhibitors from these sectors have already booked more than 24,000 of the 60,000 square metres set aside for FIMMA + Maderalia, more than double the space they took at the 2022 fair.

The FIMMA area will be in halls 1 and 2 on Level 2 at Feria Valencia and will be hosting the Spanish and international companies that are at the forefront of machinery, technology and solutions for the furniture, wood and wood construction industries.

Valencia, 22 February 2024.- The International Fair for Machinery for the Furniture-making and Wood Sectors (FIMMA), one of the sections of FIMMA + Maderalia, is set to be the major feature of the upcoming edition of this biennial fair, which runs from 14th to 17th this coming May at Feria Valencia. In fact, the area dedicated specifically to machinery, technology and solutions for the wood, furniture-making and wood construction sectors is poised to be twice the size it was last time, occupying 24,000 m2 of exhibition space. Added to the 36,000 m2 set aside for Maderalia, this is set to be an historic edition of the fair – its 40th in fact – with the total exhibition area expected to be in excess of 60,000 m2.

The positive response from the leading manufacturers of machinery for the industry, both Spanish and international, together with FIMMA’s positioning as one of the leading events for booming sectors such as wood construction, has driven this significant growth. In fact, it has already been confirmed that the foremost players in this segment of the market will be present, both the principal Iberian operators and the leading international companies that are driving forces in Europe.

The companies from these sectors will be spread across the two halls housing the FIMMA offering: halls 1 and 2 on Level 2 at Feria Valencia, an ideal location as the halls are just by the main entrance to FIMMA+ Maderalia. As well as the technology and machinery on show, both halls will feature demonstration areas such as the ‘Carpenters Workhop’, which will recreate how a carpentry production line works, live. A series of demonstrations of construction with wood is also scheduled to take place. Maderalia, for its part, will occupy the whole of halls 1, 2, 3 and 3 on Level 3 at Feria Valencia.

The outlook is “very good”, according to FIMMA Organising Committee chairman and entrepreneur Santiago Riera. “The sector is really keen to show all the new products and technological solutions that have burst into our catalogues on the one hand, and, on the other, the rise of sectors such as contract projects and construction with wood is driving the market and, therefore, industry professionals’ capacity to modernise their lines of work and their products”, says Riera, the industrialist behind long-established manufacturer Rierge.

FIMMA + Maderalia promotional stand at Cevisama

In another initiative, FIMMA + Maderalia will be at Cevisama next week, from 26th February to 1st March, at Feria Valencia, with a stand to promote the main new features of the upcoming edition of the show.

Located in the Concourse on Level 3 at Feria Valencia, the stand will be a meeting point for all professionals in the realms of interior design, specifying, architecture and construction who visit the ceramic tile fair and are also interested in finding out more about the FIMMA + Maderalia event at first hand.

Significant proportion of returning exhibitors plus new sign-ups means Hábitat has almost filled the 70,000 m2 set aside for the fair, seven months ahead of opening day.

Furniture set to be the major feature of an edition also highlighting “the contract and hotel refurbishment sector” as one of its main areas of focus, according to event director Daniel Marco.

Valencia, 16h February 2024.- Feria Hábitat València is heading towards another successful edition. The fair is concentrating its efforts on marketing the upcoming show, scheduled to run from 30th September to 3rd October this year at Feria Valencia. It is doing so with a show of confidence and significant support from exhibitors, meaning that with seven months still to go to opening day, Hábitat has already filled 80% of the exhibition space set aside for it.

What this means is that almost all of the 70,000 square metres, gross, of space allocated to exhibits has been booked, occupying six of Feria Valencia’s halls. A further two halls will be in use, dedicated to home textiles, the contract sector and kitchen future and equipment, forming the Textilhogar Home Textiles Premium and Espacio Cocina SICI fairs respectively.

The expectation is that the fair will deliver at least the excellent results it did the last time the three fairs (Hábitat, Textilhogar and Espacio Cocina SICI) ran simultaneously. That edition, in 2022, was held while Valencia was World Design Capital and between them the three fairs notched up a thousand exhibitors, filling eight halls with exhibits.

Spotlight on furniture

Expectations for 2024 are optimistic. Feria Valencia is again bringing a very powerful international offering together at the same time, covering all facets of interiors.  A show that, based on the profiles of the exhibitors booking space, will see the spotlight fall very significantly on all forms and styles of furniture, according to the event’s director, Daniel Marco. “2024 is without a doubt going to be the year that buyers will be treated to the biggest and most varied offering of furniture. Tables, chairs, living room suites, bedrooms, wardrobes, etc… and of all kinds, from modern and contemporary to designer and the most cutting edge”, Marco explains.

What has brought about this expanded offering? According to the fair’s director, “we are getting new exhibitors signing up with this category of product, it is something that visiting professionals themselves were asking for. You also need to bear in mind that this year, as well as the Hábitat offering, Espacio Cocina SICI will be running alongside, showcasing a vast offering of kitchen furniture”.

Contract and hotel refurbishment

Daniel Marco indicated that this will be another of the major themes of this next edition of Hábitat. “We are going to take a punt on the contract sector playing a major role as well as the traditional offering of furniture for the home, especially the panoply of items deployed in refurbishing hotels and hospitality venues”, he said. In his view it is about responding to the needs of a segment of the industry that demands highly specialised services. “Tourism, leisure and catering are the sectors driving our economy. Many of these businesses are in the process of refurbishing their premises and what specifiers need from trade fairs such as Hábitat is to be able to find suppliers for their projects”, Marco explains.

To cater for this demand, Feria Hábitat València will be incorporating content relating specifically to the hotel and hospitality business in the programme of talks and activities being planned. According to the fair’s director, “At the last edition of the fair we had the heads of major hotel chains and interior designers who specialise in this area. It was a great success and we will build on that for 2024, so that we offer our visitors content that is both very specific and of interest to their sector”.

Feria Hábitat Valencia is the foremost international showcase for Spain’s interiors industry, with an extensive offering of furniture, lighting, decorative items, upholstery and sleep-related items. Every year, it brings more than 600 Spanish and international companies together, whilst the last edition welcomed more than 45,000 visitors, all professionals, from 70 countries. In 2024 it will be running alongside Textilhogar Home Textiles Premium and Espacio Cocina SICI.

The WORK{H}UB project will pay tribute to design and research in nine innovative spaces showcasing new materials.

This initiative follows on from projects such the Taylor{H}otel at the last edition of the fair, which captivated contact interior designers and specifiers.

Valencia, 6th February 2024.- FIMMA + Maderalia is doing it again. The biennial fair for solutions, materials and technology for the wood, furniture and contract industries is once again turning the spotlight on the interior design and design sectors with a new, innovative an revolutionary space titled ‘Work{H}ub’ devised by creative brain José Manuel Ferrero and his team of designers at Estudi{H}ac. What it is, is a ‘coworking’ space pays tribute to research and the art of design, comprising nine spaces created using materials and solutions being presented by FIMMA + Maderalia exhibitors.

In this sense, the space offers opportunities for ground-breaking propositions that are sure to stimulate interest amongst the entire contract and specifier market, that is to say professional designers, interior designers and architects who specialise in designing integrated projects for communal spaces (shops, hotels, offices etc.). The last edition of FIMMA + Maderalia setup a similar space: the much-lauded Taylor{H}otel, also designed by the Estudi{H}ac team, which re-created different hotel rooms. That project was a key attraction throughout the fair, which is what FIMMA + Maderalia 2024 is aiming for. The fair takes place from 14th to 17th this coming May.

What is Work{H}ub 2024?

José Manuel Ferrero’s design studio has devised this new space as a central point where companies and visitors can discover a new way of working, collaborating and creating synergies. The proposition is to create a more collaborative atmosphere by providing a different kind of setting, comprised of a number of areas suited to new ways of working and building teams in companies – with strategies and ideas then being generated in a space that inspires.

Work{H}ub: The different areas of the Work{H}ub will show real uses and applications for the huge variety of materials to be found on exhibitors’ stands. Real spaces that will prompt interest and contacts for the industries involved.

“Our workhub will be the starting point for you to discover the great offering available in materials and applications for them. The different blocks containing the areas will be created in neutral, very architectural colours, a space where those who love the materials can meet in a relaxed, exciting and inspiring atmosphere. With spaces for meeting, working, collaborating, sharing, building relationships and taking a rest” the designers explain.

Different work areas and specialised areas

The hub is structured around different specialised areas or zones, each styled with unique shapes, textures and colours and marked out by columns that will enclose the spaces whilst offering the possibility of showing a different material, in the same neutral colour range as the main structure.

The nine spaces that will make up the FIMMA + Maderalia 2924 Work{H}ub are as follows:

·         First, in the Reception zone, desk furniture will unquestionably be the star feature of the entrance, with colour playing a key part in the impact it makes. With a fluid, organic design, this is where people coming in will meet and the area will also make the statement that design is very much present from the start of the sequence of spaces.

·         The Sala Art Exhibition (Art Exhibition Room) will show different forms of materials simplified conceptually and turned into pieces of art, the end result being a three-dimensional canvas that changes depending on where it is viewed from. A strategically placed bench opposite will invite visitors to sit and look at the piece.

·         The ‘Shop Box’ retail space comprises shelving units on both sides that form a corridor that invites you to walk down it and look at the images, which tell the stories of the participating companies. This is a space for discovery in which to explore the products made by the different brands.

·         An exhibition of materials is due to be staged as well. Titled ‘Materioteca de Tendencias’ (‘Material Trends’), it will be a place for artists to find inspiration and choose the materials that will bring their next projects to life. A library of materials that reflects the latest innovations in design, sure to awaken the artist’s curiosity.

·         The ‘El Taller’ (‘The Workshop’) work zone, for its part, will attempt to be a condensed version of the artist/creative’s workspace. A space that is usually private and intimate will be open to show the artist’s creations in progress. The final result takes the visitor into the creative process and, through half-finished work, industrial machinery and packing cases, gives an insight into how he works.

·         Another notable area will be the preparation area styled ‘Artist Room’, which will be next to the workshop and will serve as an intimate bolthole for the artists, a space where they can rest after the creative sessions. The room will have a door into the workshop, meaning the artists can stay close to their work but at the same time enabling them to re-charge their batteries and reflect on their projects. A space offering balance between work and rest.

·         Meanwhile, the ‘Work Area’ office zone will be the actual co-working area and is being designed to inspire collaboration and innovation. People will get together around a table to share ideas, work together on projects and encourage creativity. The zone will be the epicentre of productivity, where workers go to sit and progress their projects. At the back of the zone a wall will feature moodboards with photographs, notes and product manuals, to illustrate the creative process.  Along the wall, a wardrobe will add a touch of colour whilst being a medium for showing corporate material.

·         The ‘Talks Room’ space, in the form of an agora, will be far more than a mere stage for presentations: equipped with screens to provide visual content continually whilst talks are not being delivered, it will encourage brands to talk, reflect and collaborate with their customers.

·         Lasty, the ‘Lounge Bar’ in the rear zone of the agora will feature a bar designed to create a more relaxed atmosphere, far from any talks that might be being delivered. It will also feature a couch in the shape of a chain, symbolising the links between the various companies in this space and adding a splash of colour to the area.

The highly specialised events will be delivered by representatives of companies exhibiting and will review some of the main innovations on show in the fair’s commercial zone.

This year, joint, cognitive and mental health, and specific solutions for the so-called ‘third age’ is set to be one of the major issues being addressed in the presentations. The Seminar Theatre’s opening session, for example, will see manufacturer Vivatis present the first plant-based, patented hyaluronic acid proven to support joints. Next up, Disproquimia will reveal magnesium’s properties for improving cognitive health through an innovative magnesium threonate salt that improves memory, relieves anxiety and helps prevent cognitive deterioration.

The company has also booked the next slot to present the solutions they sell that they source from New Zealand and are based on bioactive products derived for example from kiwi fruit.

The morning session will conclude with three presentations: one by Korott, which will present probiotic solutions that go beyond the gastrointestinal tract; one by Indena about how the technology it is developing to regulate blood sugar and blood cholesterol levels is progressing; and lastly, manufacturer Novozymes will be presenting its mental health solution based on a latest-generation probiotic strain containing Bifidobacterium longum 1714.

The afternoon session will bring the first day at the ‘Seminar Theatre’ to a close, with presentations by Gelita and Synapharm, who will be introducing the first protein made of bioactive collagen peptides that boost performance, resistance and energy metabolism in athletes on the one hand and, on the other, a new Magnesium N-Acetyltaurinate salt that acts specifically on women’s cognitive health and wellbeing.

Nutrition, dermo-aesthetics and mental health

On the second and last day of Nutraceuticals 2024, the programme of presentations continues with Solchem Nature introducing a new natural alternative pain relief for treating joint and menstrual pain, headaches and diabetic neuropathy. Next, Lehvoss Iberia will also be showing a solution for joint relief, based on a specifically formulated blend of natural plants.

Meanwhile, Alesco will be presenting a new technology they have developed and patented that is a unique system that transforms the most common natural elements into highly efficient, safe functional ingredients.

Next on stage, Abyss Ingredientes will be presenting the first ‘dermaceutical’ – half dermo-cosmetic, half nutraceutical – ingredient to have been developed, whilst Gnosis by Lesaffre will be showing its new SAMe metabolising agent that signifies an advance in mitigating age-related change.

The last three presentations in the ‘Seminar Theatre 2024’ are scheduled to be given by Azelis, which will be introducing its new patented nutraceutical supplement that improves memory, Kyojin, which will be showing its new probiotic that stimulates the immune system, intestinal wellbeing and the nervous system and, lastly, Tradichem Group, which will be presenting its new type-II native collagen that stimulates natural reconstruction and repair of joint cartilage.

FIMMA + Maderalia will also be hosting ‘B2B’ meetings between international buyers and exhibitors.

Valencia, 15th January 2024.- FIMMA + Maderalia 2024 has caught the attention of international markets. The keenly anticipated biennial Spanish fair for materials, technology and components has sparked the interest of the international markets that will be a stand-out feature of the next edition, slated to take place from 14th to 17th May at Feria Valencia.

The fair organisers and the public and trade organisations have responded to this interest by arranging a series of trade missions comprising personalised invitations to high-profile specifiers and buyers with significant purchasing power.

The initiatives are being driven both by Feria Valencia and by associations such as ARVET (Spanish Alliance of Exporters) and COFEARFE (Federation of Spanish Manufacturers of Ironmongery and DIY Products), with the support of other organisation including  ICEX, the Generalitat Valenciana and the Conselleria de Innovación, Industria, Turismo y Comercio (Ministry for Innovation, Industry, Tourism and Trade) through IVACE (Valencian Institute for Competitiveness in Business).

International specifier and buyer missions

More specifically, a delegation of international specifiers has been invited, jointly with ICEX, to visit FIMMA + Maderalia from markets including France, Portugal, Italy, Germany and Morocco. These are professionals who wield considerable influence amongst target groups and have shown significant interest in seeing the extensive offering, new products and trends that will be on show this year at the Feria Valencia event.

On another front, and in this instance with institutional support from IVACE International, an ambitious trade mission has been arranged for international buyers and professionals in the contract sector in European Union, Latin American and North African countries. These are priority markets for FIMMA + Maderalia exhibitors’ exports and are therefore highly likely to generate business.

International B2B business meetings

Equally, and precisely to drive business with foreign buyers, FIMMA + Maderalia is reviving the ‘B2B business meetings’ programme – 20-minute meetings between international visitors and exhibiting companies designed to discover new opportunities, detect trends, generate international business and synergies, and promote partnerships, whilst creating visibility and accessibility for future customers.

To take part, both exhibitors and visitors will need to register via a platform that will be going live soon on the official FIMMA + Maderalia website, where they will be able to send and receive requests for meetings. As the meetings are accepted, a schedule will be generated in line with each participant’s commercial interests.

These meetings are part of the Enterprise Europe Network, which is supported by the European Commission and has more than 400 contact points designed to support competitiveness, internationalisation and innovation amongst SMEs.

Industry professionals to have chance to discover secrets of industrialised construction using wood, in initiative by Castille-León centre Cesefor set to combine live demonstrations, training and assembly and dis-assembly of a ‘mini home’.

“This will be the biggest commitment a Spanish trade fair has ever made to building with wood and creating a common language around sustainability”,

explains initiative co-ordinator Manuel García.

Valencia, 14th December 2023.- FIMMA + Maderalia has doubled down on the commitment it made ahead of the upcoming edition of the fair to highlight one of the business channels of the future for wood: wood-based industrialised construction. In line with this commitment, the fair has launched several new features in partnership with consultancy WWF (World Wood Future) and is introducing the Academia Maderaula platform, an ambitious theoretical and practical initiative developed by the Cesefor Technology Centre of Castilla y León.

In the words of Manuel García, head of Cesefor’s Wood Construction Department, the move is “the biggest commitment a Spanish trade fair has ever made to building with wood and creating a common language around sustainability in our industry”. The initiative is ambitious and aims to show all visitors to FIMMA + Maderalia the secrets of industrialised construction of light structural frameworks made of wood, a fast-growing form of construction.

Academia Maderaula at FIMMA + Maderalia

What will the ‘Academia Maderaula’ consist of? The project will comprise two large spaces, one located in the FIMMA halls, the other in the Maderalia halls.  A training area will be created within each of the spaces where a series of micro-talks and presentations on the topic will be given, as well as live demonstrations of techniques for building with wood.

Directly linked to this, a small house, or ‘mini-home’, made of prefabricated wood modules will be assembled then dis-assembled, over just three days, within one of the areas of the Academia Maderaula. During these sessions attendees will be able to see the full process involved in building this kind of house, from assembly to the final finish and subsequent dis-assembly.

The initiative will give visitors the chance to see at first hand the composition and structure of the different prefabricated panels used in the build, and the system to follow to assemble them properly, thereby achieving a fast, safe build that is highly energy efficient.

The idea is to show industry professionals in particular how wood is fast emerging as a material that because it is 100% sustainable and can contribute to a significant reduction in carbon footprint has great prospects for the future.  As Manuel García at Cesefor explains, “it is about providing a focus on wood’s entire value chain: from the mountain to our homes. This is a global project that – and this is something new – also provides a focus on the technology that makes it possible to transform wood into a construction material fully adapted to the current demands of our homes. Maderaula will as a result be bringing a different perspective to FIMMA + Maderalia along with a new language around new ways of building”.

The leading fairs for furniture, lighting, decor, home textiles and kitchen furnishings are set to return to Feria Valencia at the end of next September in what will be the biggest ever show for the home and contact sectors.

Valencia, 14th December 2023.- Feria Valencia will be hosting a fresh joint edition of the three foremost international specialist fairs for the interiors industry next year. New editions of Feria Hábitat València, TEXTILHOGAR Home Textiles Premium and Espacio Cocina SICI will be taking place together again from 30th September to 3rd October 2024.

The furniture, lighting and decor fair and the home textiles show are running together for the third time, whilst the kitchen furniture and equipment show is joining the combined fair following its absence last year on account of it being a biennial event.

The move marks a return to the ‘recipe for success’ that delivered such positive results two years ago, when a showcase of more than 800 international companies and brands was created that occupied more than 90,000m2 of exhibition space. Feria Valencia is as a result committed to repeating the large-scale format, with its significant domestic and international appeal, aiming to attract more than the 48,000 buyers who attended in 2022.

Change of dates

One of the new features of the event is that it will be taking place in the fifth week of September and just running into October. This timing is nothing new for fairs such as Hábitat, which over the course of its life has been held on similar dates. What this also means is that these are now the preferred dates for both Hábitat, Textilhogar and Espacio Cocina SICI, dates that avoid them clashing with any other major fair, especially in Asia or Germany, and should bring distinctly higher numbers of buyers and of Spanish and international visitors.

Market sectors such as furniture in all its forms, for both the home and the kitchen, will be a larger presence at this upcoming edition of the fair.

Hábitat, on the up

For Feria Hábitat València, this new joint event is an opportunity to boost the powerful synergies that exist between the sectors of industry involved, further enhancing the appeal of the showcase and the potential it offers buyers in the areas of both traditional domestic furniture distribution and the contract and specifier businesses, which look specifically for comprehensive offerings.

It should be remembered that the number of visitors to Hábitat soared from the 36,000 who attended the last solus edition in 2019, to 48,000 in 2022, when it took place alongside the textile and kitchen events, with 45,000 visiting this year, when there was no kitchen fair.

Textilhogar, and the synergies surrounding interiors

This will be the third consecutive edition of TEXTILHOGAR Home Textiles Premium taking place alongside Hábitat and its second time alongside Espacio Cocina SICI. The synergies this creates for professionals working in home interiors and the contract sector have enabled Textilhogar to boost its offering in the high added-value, design-centred segment of the market, featuring for example manufacturers that specialise in hotel or international projects. Once again, the event is being supported by the industry’s trade association, ATEVAL – Home Textiles From Spain.

Espacio Cocina SICI: new formats, and kitchen furniture

Espacio Cocina SICI, for its part, will be returning to Feria Valencia in 2024 stronger than ever and with a clear aim to make kitchen furniture a bigger part of the showcase, which will also include sectors such as claddings, taps, domestic appliances, homewares, lighting, worktops and sinks.

What is more the event, which is being supported by trade association AMC, has introduced a new exhibition space for this upcoming edition titled ‘AMC Kitchen Lab’, with ‘turnkey’ stands in a uniform design at a set price that will include hotel accommodation, personalised sales service, build-up, catering services and customised advertising campaigns on social networks.

A showcase of kitchen sector trends featuring only manufacturers of kitchen furniture along withtheir respective suppliers of worktops, electrical appliances and complementary furniture. It is worth bearing in mind that Espacio Cocina SICI is Spain’s only fair specialising in these sectors of industry.

The biennial is getting behind timber construction as one of the cornerstones of the fair’s upcoming edition. It will also be arranging a series of themed lectures on the subject, whilst staging the ‘València Open Wood’ initiative, which will include visits to  buildings close to Feria Valencia that have been constructed of wood.

Maderalia aims to be a forum for “re-thinking timber construction” that has the power to draw professional communities to visit such as architects, specifiers, developers, carpenters and builders.

Valencia, 17th November 2023.- Timber construction is definitely one of the central themes of the next edition of FIMMA + Maderalia, which takes place at Feria Valencia from 14th to 17th May next year. In line with this, the fair has signed a partnership agreement with consultancy WWF (World Wood Future) to devise a series of activities within the framework of FIMMA + Maderalia centred on promoting not just timber construction but a change in the social, economic and environmental paradigm whereby wood, as a natural and sustainable material comes to play a key role.

Notable amongst the battery of activities to be rolled out is the construction of a house completely made of wood that will showcase the infinite possibilities the material offers for contemporary living. Titled ‘Mediterranean Hábitat Modular House’, the initiative consists in fact of a 140m2 home that will be made of wood or wood-derivative products that display the same properties as wood as a construction material as well as its excellent insulation properties, its versatility, durability, strength, reduced build times and low carbon footprint compared with other materials.

FIMMA + Maderalia will also feature a number of technical presentations and workshops on the subject of building with wood. These will be delivered by the companies themselves that will be supplying the materials the house is built of. Educational sessions given by specialists, they will address both construction techniques and the technical capabilities of the materials used to construct the ‘Mediterranean Hábitat Modular House’.

Another of the more unusual activities taking place as part of the drive to promote building with wood is the ‘València Open Wood’ initiative, a series of technical guided visits to several unique structures built from wood that are close to Feria Valencia. These visits have been devised for developers, architects and builders coming to FIMMA + Maderalia  who are interested in learning more about the properties of timber used for structural and construction purposes.

A number of more entertaining events are planned to complement the above, such as the ‘Wood Cocktail’ that will bring together industry professionals, exhibitors, visitors, company representatives etc…at a fair where the splendid wooden ‘Mediterranean Hábitat Modular House’ will be the ideal setting to network in a relaxed atmosphere.

These initiatives are part of FIMMA + Maderalia’s drive to deliver content that will create a very special edition of the biennial. Taking place at Feria Valencia, this will be the 40th edition of the fair that showcases the best for the industry.
