80% of exhibition space planned for Hábitat 2024 already booked

Significant proportion of returning exhibitors plus new sign-ups means Hábitat has almost filled the 70,000 m2 set aside for the fair, seven months ahead of opening day.

Furniture set to be the major feature of an edition also highlighting “the contract and hotel refurbishment sector” as one of its main areas of focus, according to event director Daniel Marco.

Valencia, 16h February 2024.- Feria Hábitat València is heading towards another successful edition. The fair is concentrating its efforts on marketing the upcoming show, scheduled to run from 30th September to 3rd October this year at Feria Valencia. It is doing so with a show of confidence and significant support from exhibitors, meaning that with seven months still to go to opening day, Hábitat has already filled 80% of the exhibition space set aside for it.

What this means is that almost all of the 70,000 square metres, gross, of space allocated to exhibits has been booked, occupying six of Feria Valencia’s halls. A further two halls will be in use, dedicated to home textiles, the contract sector and kitchen future and equipment, forming the Textilhogar Home Textiles Premium and Espacio Cocina SICI fairs respectively.

The expectation is that the fair will deliver at least the excellent results it did the last time the three fairs (Hábitat, Textilhogar and Espacio Cocina SICI) ran simultaneously. That edition, in 2022, was held while Valencia was World Design Capital and between them the three fairs notched up a thousand exhibitors, filling eight halls with exhibits.

Spotlight on furniture

Expectations for 2024 are optimistic. Feria Valencia is again bringing a very powerful international offering together at the same time, covering all facets of interiors.  A show that, based on the profiles of the exhibitors booking space, will see the spotlight fall very significantly on all forms and styles of furniture, according to the event’s director, Daniel Marco. “2024 is without a doubt going to be the year that buyers will be treated to the biggest and most varied offering of furniture. Tables, chairs, living room suites, bedrooms, wardrobes, etc… and of all kinds, from modern and contemporary to designer and the most cutting edge”, Marco explains.

What has brought about this expanded offering? According to the fair’s director, “we are getting new exhibitors signing up with this category of product, it is something that visiting professionals themselves were asking for. You also need to bear in mind that this year, as well as the Hábitat offering, Espacio Cocina SICI will be running alongside, showcasing a vast offering of kitchen furniture”.

Contract and hotel refurbishment

Daniel Marco indicated that this will be another of the major themes of this next edition of Hábitat. “We are going to take a punt on the contract sector playing a major role as well as the traditional offering of furniture for the home, especially the panoply of items deployed in refurbishing hotels and hospitality venues”, he said. In his view it is about responding to the needs of a segment of the industry that demands highly specialised services. “Tourism, leisure and catering are the sectors driving our economy. Many of these businesses are in the process of refurbishing their premises and what specifiers need from trade fairs such as Hábitat is to be able to find suppliers for their projects”, Marco explains.

To cater for this demand, Feria Hábitat València will be incorporating content relating specifically to the hotel and hospitality business in the programme of talks and activities being planned. According to the fair’s director, “At the last edition of the fair we had the heads of major hotel chains and interior designers who specialise in this area. It was a great success and we will build on that for 2024, so that we offer our visitors content that is both very specific and of interest to their sector”.

Feria Hábitat Valencia is the foremost international showcase for Spain’s interiors industry, with an extensive offering of furniture, lighting, decorative items, upholstery and sleep-related items. Every year, it brings more than 600 Spanish and international companies together, whilst the last edition welcomed more than 45,000 visitors, all professionals, from 70 countries. In 2024 it will be running alongside Textilhogar Home Textiles Premium and Espacio Cocina SICI.
