According to data of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) Spain has gone from hosting 463 international association congresses in 2011 to 550 in 2012. Thanks to these data Spain repeated in third place in the world rankings, just below the US and Germany. United Kingdom, France, Italy and Brazil occupied the following positions.

Valencia también ha incrementado el número de congresos de 39 en 2011 a 49 el año pasado. Dicho incremento le ha permitido avanzar del puesto 53 al 44 en el ranking mundial y del 30 al 24 en el europeo. Dicho ranking europeo está liderado por Viena, París y Berlín, estando Madrid en cuarta posición con 164 congresos y Barcelona en quinta con 154.
