Ecodesign, craftsmanship and creative and humanistic solutions poised to be standout features of 2023 edition of Salón nude

Jury selects nine creations by emerging talent to be displayed alongside nine colleges and universities taking part in upcoming edition of Salón nude from 19th to 22nd September within Feria Hábitat València.

València, 7th July 2023.- The work to be shown at Salón nude 2023 has now been selected. The Young Design Talent Show, which is also the main springboard for budding careers and creativity in the field of interiors that takes place in Spain has now confirmed who will be participating in this next edition of the show, which runs from 19th to 22nd September within Feria Hábitat València. The jury, comprised of professionals, selected a total of nine designers, new manufacturers, design galleries and consultancies to take part, along with nine universities and schools of design, in a new edition of nude whose outstanding feature, according to the jury itself, will be the “extremely high standard” of the work selected.

In this regard, the process to select this year’s participants involved a jury comprised of eminent professionals in the field of design, such as specialist design journalist Teresa Herrero; designer and current director of the Fundació del Disseny de la Comunitat Valenciana, Xavi Calvo; designer and founder of Colección Alexandra, Jacobo Ventura; and Venture Experience’s founder and creative director, designer Alberto Martínez.

The members of jury, which is co-ordinated by Salón nude founder and curator Marïa Fontes, all met at Feria Valencia last week to assess all the designs submitted and select the definitive participants in the Salón. The designers and designs consultancies that made the final cut are:

·               Sagarminaga Atelier (Getxo, Bilbao)

·               Ester Cruz Design (Madrid)

·               RIR &Ci Diseño Textil Artesano (Allariz, Ourense)

·               Isabel Alonso (Murcia)

·               Creavalo (Ontinyent, Valencia)

·               Goslo Studio (Ibiza, Valencia)

·               Woodstudio (Peru, Barcelona)

·               Villegijon (Asturias, Finland)

·               María Ramón (Valencia)

The following schools of design will also be taking part in Salón nude 2023:

·               Barreira Arte y Diseño (Valencia)

·               EA + SC Manises (Valencia)

·               EASD Valencia (Valencia)

·               Universitat Jaume I (Castellón)

·               Universidad CEU – Cardenal Herrera (Valencia)

·               EASDA Alcoy (Alicante)

·               Universidad Anáhuac (Mexico)

·               ETSID UPV (Valencia)

·               ETSID UPBV – Cátedra IDC (Valencia)

Having reviewed all the designs submitted, the Jury singled out those that use “design as an instrument of change with an eye to the future”, and also “the designs that blend different disciplines such as the new contemporary craftsmanship and art design”. In this regard, the Jury rated the element of “exploring and researching new materials” that was present in the designs selected, together with variables such as “ecodesign and commitment to the planet”. The Jury similarly underscored “the search for creative and humanistic solutions geared to improving people’s lives and environment”, which characterised the designs selected.

The content of the next edition of the Salón nude has thus been determined. The event has become a genuine hothouse of Spanish design over the years, with designers who are now very firmly established having started off with a stand there, including Héctor Serrano, Alberto Martínez, Miguel Herranz, José Manuel Ferrero, Odosdesign, Culdesac, Stone Design, Javier Herrero, Luis Eslava, Isaac Piñeiro, EnBlanc, La Mamba – Omelette and Dutch designer Marre Moerel.
